The Itel EMC Test Lab is the electromagnetic compatibility laboratory of ITEL Telecomunicazioni S.r.l., a manufacturer at Ruvo di Puglia in Apulia whose core business is RF shielding and Faraday cage systems for magnetic resonance imaging installations, together with medical and telecommunications electronics. That heritage shapes the laboratory: alongside conventional CE-marking work it runs two specialised service lines that most commercial EMC houses do not offer. The first is MRI site auditing - pre-installation and acceptance surveys of scanner rooms that measure ambient static and time-varying magnetic fields, floor vibration, RF interference levels and the shielding effectiveness of the Faraday enclosure itself, so that a magnet can be sited without image degradation. The second is human exposure assessment: measurement of electric, magnetic and electromagnetic field strengths against occupational and public exposure limits, used for workplace risk assessment and for transmitter site compliance. Conventional capability covers radiated and conducted emissions, the IEC 61000-4 immunity series, harmonics and flicker, and electrical safety measurements including leakage current, protective conductor continuity and insulation resistance. The laboratory is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development under Ministerial Decree 84/2002 for radiofrequency equipment compliance testing, operates a quality management system built to UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 with all instrumentation on periodic calibration traceable to ACCREDIA, and also offers documented EMC pre-compliance and self-certification support. Specialisations are medical imaging environments, electromedical equipment, and RF shielded enclosure verification.

SITAEL, Italy's largest privately held space company, opened its EMC laboratory in 2021 at its Mola di Bari site in Apulia, and it is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2018 under accreditation number 02190, with the company's UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 quality system extended to cover EMC testing in 2023. The laboratory is built around a semi-anechoic chamber sized for substantial hardware: a cylindrical test envelope 4 metres in diameter and 4 metres high, a 4 metre turntable rated to 4,000 kg, a 3 by 3 metre access door with a level platform so equipment can be rolled straight in, and measurement at both 3 and 5 metre distances across 30 MHz to 18 GHz, with remote turntable control and CCTV monitoring of the article under test. That specification reflects the parent company's own work on satellite platforms and propulsion: alongside the commercial CISPR 32 and CISPR 11 emission standards and the EN 61000-4 immunity series, the laboratory tests to ECSS-E-ST-20-07C, the European Cooperation for Space Standardization requirement for spacecraft electromagnetic compatibility, and to EN 50121-3-1 for railway rolling stock. Testing covers radiated and conducted emissions and immunity to electrostatic discharge, radiated fields, electrical fast transients, surge impulses and magnetic fields, on equipment powered from DC or single and three-phase AC supplies. The laboratory positions itself for development-stage work as much as final compliance, offering pre-compliance measurement, in-development characterisation and hands-on debugging support. Specialisations are satellite and space hardware qualification, railway rolling stock and signalling, industrial and automotive electronics, and wireless equipment.
