CKC Laboratories, Inc. is an independent EMC testing organization founded in 1973 with over 50 years of testing experience, operating facilities in Fremont and Chatsworth, California and Canyon Park, Washington. The company holds FCC Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) status, is a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) for Canada, serves as an EU Notified Body and UK Certified Body, holds ITAR/EAR registration, and is NIST SP 800-171 compliant. Staff includes iNARTE-certified engineers. CKC was the first US-based firm to assist mainframe computer manufacturers with VDE compliance testing and the first US-based lab to receive EN 45001 accreditation for transmitter testing. Aerospace and avionics EMC testing is a core specialty, with Fremont, Chatsworth, and Canyon Park facilities configured specifically for this purpose. RTCA/DO-160 capabilities include radiated susceptibility testing to Section 20 up to 200 V/m (10 kHz to 18 GHz) with HIRF testing available up to 3,000 V/m (DO-160E Category K and DO-160F/G Category G) for EUTs up to 32 cu ft, and up to 7,000 V/m (Category L) for smaller highly reflective EUTs. The Canyon Park reverberation chamber is a copper-lined 10' × 18' × 8' shielded enclosure with vertical z-fold paddles, capable of both mode-tuned and mode-stirred DO-160 procedures with a 4' × 10' × 3' test volume. Lightning transient testing covers up to Levels 1–5 for DO-160E Section 22 plus Waveform 6 multiple burst, as well as Boeing D6-16050 Landing Gear Level, Airbus ABD0100.1.2 G Landing Gear Level, and Airbus-specific cable bundle impedances including waveform 5A up to 2,000 V / 2,000 A. Additional aerospace standards include Boeing D6-16050-2/3/4, Boeing D200Z001, and NASA EMC requirements. Military EMC testing (MIL-STD-461) is also offered. Commercial and commercial automotive EMC testing covers FCC, ISED Canada, CE Mark, Korea approvals, medical device EMC (IEC 60601-1-2), wireless/transmitter testing, IC EMC testing, in-situ EMC testing, antenna calibrations, and engineering services. Agency certification for FCC, Industry Canada, and CE Mark is handled through the affiliated CKC Certification division. Environmental and dynamics testing is available at the Pacific Northwest and Southern California facilities. Safety testing and EMC training webinars and dedicated seminars are also offered.

Element Materials Technology

Bothell, Washington, United States

Element's Seattle/Bothell laboratory — formerly part of the Northwest EMC network — is a fully accredited EMC, EMI, wireless, and IoT testing facility located 20 miles northeast of downtown Seattle in Bothell, Washington. The lab is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by A2LA (Lab Code 3310.06) and is FCC-listed (Designation US1296). The facility features a 3-meter semi-anechoic chamber and a dedicated immunity chamber, providing comprehensive radiated and conducted emissions testing, full immunity evaluations, and advanced RF and wireless testing services. The lab is fully accredited for MIL-STD-461 and RTCA DO-160 testing, giving it the ability to serve both commercial and military/aerospace clients from the same location — a capability that supports defense EMC qualification as well as Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) testing on short timelines. Wireless testing capabilities are extensive, covering Bluetooth, BLE, ZigBee, Wi-Fi (2.4/5/6 GHz), RFID, short-range devices, cellular module integration, and specialized antenna radiation pattern measurements. The lab also supports IoT device testing and certification for global deployment. Certification services span FCC, ISED, MIC (Japan), CE, UKCA, and other international radio approvals. The product scope served at Bothell is broad: medical devices (implantable devices, surgical equipment, infusion pumps, clinical and home healthcare equipment), commercial and industrial electronics (IT equipment, communications equipment, sensors, industrial control systems, smart home devices), household appliances, A/V equipment, vending machines, and laboratory/measurement equipment. Beyond testing, the Bothell team provides advisory services including test plan development, compliance strategy, technical file guidance, and training to help manufacturers navigate domestic and international certification requirements.
