Radiated Field Calculator

Convert receiver readings to field strength using antenna factor, cable loss, and system impedance.

Use this when: You have a receiver reading and antenna factor and need field strength in dBµV/m or V/m.

Reference only. Verify against your calibrated setup, antenna calibration data, and the applicable standard before making compliance decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about using this calculator

What is antenna factor (AF)?
Antenna factor (dB/m) relates the voltage at the receiver input to the electric field in dBµV/m: dBµV/m = dBµV_rx + cable loss + AF.
How does system impedance affect radiated calculations?
Impedance is used when you enter power at the receiver (dBm). It converts dBm to dBµV before applying antenna factor. Voltage entries (dBµV) do not need impedance.
Should I use preset antenna factors?
Presets give rough estimates for common antennas. For compliance testing, always use the calibrated AF from your antenna data sheet.
