EMC Tempest Engineering is an A2LA-accredited (Certificate No. 3166.01, NVLAP compliant) full-service EMI testing laboratory located in Anaheim, California, specializing in military EMC testing to MIL-STD-461 and aerospace EMC testing to RTCA/DO-160. With over 40 years of continuous EMC design and testing experience, the lab is staffed exclusively by degreed electrical engineers and iNARTE-certified technicians, holding iNARTE EMC Design Engineer certifications EMCD-00174-ME and EMCD-00175-ME. EMC Tempest is a go-to resource for defense contractors, aerospace manufacturers, and commercial electronics companies in Southern California seeking accredited MIL-STD and DO-160 qualification testing. The facility houses five 20' × 24' × 10' shielded semi-anechoic rooms, with both anechoic and fully ferrite-lined test chambers available. Ante-chambers are available for test setups requiring complete isolation of support equipment. EMI qualification testing capabilities cover MIL-STD-461 A/B/C/D/E/F/G (all military systems), RTCA/DO-160 C/D/E/F/G including Section 22 lightning testing at Levels 1–5, MIL-STD-461F RS105 EMP testing to 50 kV/m, CS10/CS11/CS12/CS116 EMP testing, MIL-STD-704 A/B/C/D/E/F (AC and DC airborne power), MIL-STD-1275 A/B (DC power on vehicles), MIL-STD-16400G (shipboard power), MIL-STD-1399 Section 300A (shipboard power interface), and FCC Part 15 Subpart B (commercial electronics). Additional services include power quality testing, EMI filter design, pre-production EMC design review, and customer-ready test plans and reports with fast turnaround.
