EMC Testing Labs in Erlangen – Accredited Facilities

Erlangen is the Franconian city page: the Erlangen listing plus Ebermannstadt and Unterleinleiter, the nearby towns that share this cluster rather than the Munich suburbs. Nuremberg is the larger search name, but the chambers in this directory are listed under Erlangen and those two towns.

EMCCons DR. RASEK GmbH & Co. KG is an independent test and calibration laboratory in Franconian Switzerland, headquartered at Boelwiese 8 in Ebermannstadt with a second site at Stoernhofer Berg 15 in Unterleinleiter, between Nuremberg, Erlangen, Fuerth and Bamberg. It describes itself as an EMC pioneer since 1977 with more than 45 years of testing experience, and its facility is one of the most unusual in Europe: several hectares of operating area, an open-area test site supporting measurement distances up to 300 m, a dedicated antenna calibration field, an underground laboratory containing numerous anechoic chambers, a trapezoidal absorber hall, more than 15 shielded rooms, GTEM and TEM cells and triplates, several mode-stirrer and reverberation chambers, motor vehicle roller test stands with extraction systems, MV/LV transformer stations of 630 kVA at 50 Hz, DC, 60 Hz and 400 Hz generator systems, mobile test laboratories, and around 3,000 measuring instruments spanning 0 Hz to 325 GHz with sensitivities down to the noise limit, powers up to megawatts and field strengths up to kV/m. Accreditation is held under DAkkS D-PL-12067-01-00 to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, with partial scopes for EMC of active medical devices (-01-01), EMC, wireless applications, electrical appliance safety and environmental testing (-01-02), and EMC of systems, components and separate technical units for motor vehicles and trailers (-01-05), plus a separate DAkkS calibration accreditation D-K-12067-01-00 and - notably for a German laboratory - A2LA accreditation certificate 2032.01 for electrical testing and automotive EMC. The test menu goes far beyond standard conformity work: alongside conducted and radiated emissions and immunity and ESD it covers HEMP, HPM, EMP, HERF, HIRF, LEMP and NEMP, direct lightning impact tests up to 200 kA, indirect lightning effects to avionic and military specifications, DO-160/ED-14 Section 23, ED-105/SAE ARP 5416, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-462, and HERO testing. Environmental simulation covers climatic, vibration and shock, corrosion, pressure, fluid susceptibility, IP, icing, gravel bombardment and drop testing. It also builds and sells its own EMC generators, runs EM simulation and R&D, and teaches seminars on MIL-STD-810, DO-160/ED-14, HIRF/HERF and lightning electromagnetic effects. Remote witness testing is offered via live online connection.

Siemens operates two DAkkS-accredited test centres under its Digital Enterprise Services banner, both accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and both open to external customers as well as internal product lines. The EMC-Center at Erlangen is organized into a Laboratory division and an Engineering division, the latter unusual in that it takes on field measurement, energy system simulation and on-site troubleshooting at customer installations rather than confining itself to chamber work. Its semi-anechoic chamber covers 150 kHz to 6 GHz for emission measurement with shielded cabins for immunity testing, and test programmes are run against IEC and EN standards, FCC requirements, the Korean KS C series, marine specifications and MIL-STD - a mix that reflects where Siemens equipment is sold. A particular strength is railway work: EMC and electromagnetic field measurement on rolling stock and on trackside and electrification infrastructure, including human exposure assessment. The Type Test Center at Karlsruhe complements this with environmental and mechanical qualification - climatic chambers of 600 to 1,500 litres covering minus 70 to plus 180 degrees Celsius and 10 to 98 per cent relative humidity, vibration to 100 g, shock, noise and drop testing - and carries a dense set of certification approvals: UL, FM, the IECEE CB Scheme, ATEX, IECEx, UKEX, CCC-Ex and marine type approvals, so explosion-protected and harsh-environment equipment can be qualified and certified in one place. Both centres offer test planning, approval consulting and EMC seminars. Specialisations are industrial and process automation equipment, railway vehicles and infrastructure, energy and switchgear systems, and explosion-protected apparatus.

Franconian industrial and type-test work

Industrial CE, type-test, and automotive-adjacent campaigns book in this cluster when the engineering team is already in Franconia. A Nuremberg witness can usually reach Erlangen; Ebermannstadt and Unterleinleiter are smaller towns and need their own drive time on the visit plan.

Erlangen vs. Munich

Book Erlangen for this Franconian group. Book Munich for Ottobrunn and Puchheim. The Bavaria page is the right list when you are still choosing between north and south.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about EMC testing in Erlangen

Does this page include Nuremberg chambers?
It includes the Erlangen-area listings people mean when they search northern Bavaria. Open each profile for the town on the report. There is no separate Nuremberg city string in the current directory.
Are Ebermannstadt and Unterleinleiter really grouped with Erlangen?
Yes. They are the nearby Franconian addresses in this directory, not Munich suburbs.
