TUV SUD America's San Diego operation is the group's West Coast EMC and product safety base and runs across two sites: the Rancho Bernardo laboratory on Via Del Campo in the north of the city, and a second facility on Mesa Rim Road in the Sorrento Valley technology corridor, which is the address that appears on the company's FCC equipment authorisation filings. The EMC estate comprises both a 3-metre and a 10-metre semi-anechoic chamber, so radiated emissions can be measured at the full 10-metre distance specified by ANSI C63.4 and CISPR rather than inferred from a 3-metre extrapolation - a real distinction for borderline products and for the Class B limits that consumer and IT equipment must meet.
