A quick CISPR / FCC margin check

Once you have a field strength in dBµV/m, the next question is usually “how close is the limit?” This checker compares a simplified CISPR 32 or FCC Part 15B table and reports margin. It is for engineering judgment on a pre-scan, not a substitute for an accredited test report.

Class, distance, and detector all change the number. If you measured at 3 m with QP, do not compare to a 10 m average table and call it a pass.

Which standards are supported?
CISPR 32 / EN 55032 (Class A at 10 m, Class B at 3 m; quasi-peak and average) and FCC Part 15B (Class A at 10 m, Class B at 3 m; quasi-peak). Always verify against the official standard for your product class.
What does margin mean?
Margin is your measured value minus the limit in dB. Negative margin means you are under the limit (pass); positive means over the limit (fail).
Does this replace a full compliance report?
No. This is a quick engineering check. Official testing requires accredited labs, correct detector settings, and the full standard including conducted emissions.
