About
Compliance Engineering International is, by its own account and by its accreditation record, the only ISO/IEC 17025 accredited electrical test laboratory in Ireland - accredited by INAB under scope 088T - operating from a deliberately rural site at Clonross near Dunshaughlin in County Meath chosen for its very low background electrical noise, with a second office at Randalstown in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It runs four EMC chambers, and the specification is substantial for a national laboratory: a semi-anechoic chamber measuring 18 by 13 metres fully compliant with CISPR 16 and configured for the 10 metre measurement distance, with a purpose-built turntable taking equipment up to 5 metres long and 5 tonnes - enough for complete vehicles; a fully anechoic room of 9 by 6.7 metres qualified at the 3 metre range for radio testing and emissions above 1 GHz; and a dedicated radiated immunity chamber conforming to EN 61000-4-3. The regulatory designations are what make it a single route to multiple markets: FCC recognition across Part 15 Subparts B, C and F and Part 18, Industry Canada listing for ten RSS standards including RSS-102, RSS-210, RSS-247 and the UWB and millimetre-wave standards, Australian Conformity Assessment Body status, participation in the EU-Korea mutual recognition agreement, registration as an Automotive Technical Service with Ireland's NSAI, accreditation as a Sigfox test house for IoT products, and ILAC MRA membership. Its accredited scope spans EMC, electrical safety, radio and human exposure, with flexible scope available. Specialisations are Irish and UK market access, vehicle-level and large-equipment EMC, radio and IoT certification, medical devices, and multi-jurisdiction certification from one campaign.
