Groupe Emitech is France's largest independent environmental and EMC testing group, with over 30 years of experience and 17 testing centres, ten of which house EMC and radio laboratories. The group was built around electromagnetic testing and has grown by acquisition into a federation of specialist laboratories - Emitech, EMC, Eurocem, Adetests, L.E.F.A.E., Environne'Tech, PIEME, Emitech GNSS and Emitech R&D Moteurs - each holding its own COFRAC accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 (Adetests 1-2472, EMC 1-7032, Emitech 1-7460, Emitech-GNSS 1-6924, Environne'Tech 1-1245, Eurocem 1-0744, Lefae 1-1972, R&D Moteurs 1-7740). Emitech itself is also COFRAC-accredited for calibration (2-7461) at Montigny and under ISO/IEC 17065 for product certification (5-0549), and operates as Notified Body No. 0536. The fleet is one of the most comprehensive in Europe and can run up to 230 simultaneous test campaigns: more than 50 Faraday cages including two dedicated to whole-vehicle EMC, mode-stirred reverberation chambers, over 140 climatic chambers, more than 50 electrodynamic vibrators up to 120 kN, hydraulic shakers and combined benches. The headline facility is a very large Faraday cage measuring 27 x 18 x 10.5 m in Ile-de-France, paired with a 4x4 chassis dynamometer running to 120 km/h for full-vehicle CISPR 12/25, ISO 11451, ISO 11452, ISO 7637 and ECE R10 work, plus AC/DC charging simulation and a driving robot. Recognition runs deep on the automotive side: Technical Service status with CNRV in France for R10 and with KBA in Germany via the ALEE alliance, JLR recognition at Montigny (JLR-EMC-CS v1.0 Amendment 4) and Stellantis (CS.00244), FCA (CS.00054) and Volvo recognition at the Sochaux/Etupes Eurocem centre. Aerospace credentials sit with the Lefae laboratory - NADCAP, Safran AQPS 573, Rolls-Royce SABRe 155070/001, Dassault Aviation Z37 and Airbus QTML 327973 - though these cover fire, flammability and environmental methods rather than EMC. IECEE recognition covers both National Certification Body and CB Testing Laboratory roles, and FCC and ISED recognitions support North American market access. Beyond EMC the group runs TEMPEST/EMSEC, cybersecurity, GNSS, battery, propulsion, hydraulic, fire, NVH and HALT/HASS testing, designs custom test benches, and provides simulation, regulatory expertise, metrology and Qualiopi-certified training.

The Laboratoire national de metrologie et d'essais (LNE) is France's national metrology and testing laboratory, a public body whose EMC work sits at its Trappes site in the Yvelines. LNE is COFRAC-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and is a Notified Body under the Radio Equipment Directive, which lets it issue EU-Type Examination Certificates rather than only test reports. The site makes an explicit distinction that matters commercially: full RED compliance requires testing every frequency band a product uses and yields a certificate, whereas partial testing of selected bands produces a recognised report useful during development but which cannot support a RED compliance claim - and LNE warns that an incomplete report can lead to tests being invalidated and a product withdrawn from market during an inspection. Equipment includes semi-anechoic chambers, dedicated conducted emissions laboratories, measurement receivers, antennas, frequency synthesisers, amplifiers and wave generators. Coverage extends to the MID measuring instruments directive via OIML standards, and radiated field measurement includes EMF for human exposure assessment. What distinguishes LNE from a commercial test house is the combination of national metrology expertise with environmental testing: the same organisation handles radiofrequency, electrical safety, climatic, vibration, shock, acceleration, acoustics and photobiological risk work, and adds cybersecurity penetration testing and evaluation of artificial intelligence systems and their training and evaluation databases.

The SCLE EMC laboratory was created in 1997 by SCLE SFE, a manufacturer that has been building equipment for high-voltage substations for more than 40 years. That origin explains the laboratory's character: substations are electrically hostile environments, and validating its own products' emission and immunity performance led SCLE to build a test facility that it then opened to external customers. It is based in Toulouse and has been COFRAC-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 since 1998, specialising in the civil, industrial and railway sectors, and positions itself as both a test provider and an engineering partner able to evaluate installation performance and reliability. The facilities are unusual in mixing conventional EMC with high-power infrastructure. A Faraday chamber with external dimensions of 7.2 x 3.9 x 3.1 m and an interior of 6 x 2.8 x 2.5 m provides radiated immunity from 80 MHz to 3 GHz at 3-30 V/m over a 1.5 x 1.5 m uniform field area at 3 m. An electromagnetic field free zone east of Toulouse supports 10 m radiated emissions measurement from 30 MHz to 6 GHz against Class A and Class B limits to EN 55011, EN 55022 and IEC 61000-6-4. A 1,000 m2 power test platform with four test areas supplies up to 20,000 V and 3 MW, covering 750 and 1500 VDC and 400 to 20,000 VAC with a programmable supply to 180 kVA. The standout capability is a purpose-built coil designed in-house to qualify equipment against ITER's static magnetic field environment, generating 0 to 265 mT across a homogeneous 0.7 m cube with -0/+3 dB uniformity from a 150 kW input, weighing 8 tonnes; higher levels are available on request. The accredited standards list covers CISPR 11/22/24/32, CISPR 14-x, IEC 60255-26 for protection relays, the full 61000-6 generic family including 61000-6-5 for power plant and substation environments and 61000-6-8 for professional equipment, EN 50121-x railway, EN 50130-4 alarm systems, IEC 61326-x, IEC 60601-1-2 and EN 12015/12016 for lifts and escalators, plus an immunity test suite that includes the less common IEC 61000-4-10 damped oscillatory magnetic field and IEC 61000-4-16 common-mode conducted disturbance from 0 Hz to 150 kHz.

F-Lab is Schneider Electric's French testing and expertise centre in the Grenoble area, split across two platforms - F-Lab Volta at 28 rue Henri Tarze in Grenoble and F-Lab Amplitude at 31 rue Pierre Mendes France in Eybens - and connected to Schneider laboratories in the United States, China, Spain, India and Germany through the One Labs network. It occupies 14,000 m2, employs around 120 technicians, engineers and experts across five test poles, invests roughly one million euros a year in new test equipment and draws on 80 years of low- and medium-voltage systems experience. It is COFRAC-accredited to IEC/ISO 17025 under three separate numbers (1-0140, 1-6324 and 1-7287) and runs its own metrology laboratory. On the EMC side it operates two semi-anechoic chambers of 117 m3 and 486 m3 for emission and immunity work plus radiofrequency communication testing including 2.4 GHz protocols, but the reason to know about F-Lab is what surrounds the EMC chambers. Three power alternators (two of 600 MVA and one of 2,500 MVA) feed four tracks and six LV and HV test cells rated to AC 2,200 V / 300 kA for 1 s (700 kA peak) and DC 2,000 V / 200 kA for 1 s, supporting short-circuit breaking, short-time withstand current, electrical endurance and internal arc testing with X-ray observation. Climatic chambers run to 230 m3 for multi-stress testing, there is a 72 m3 acoustic chamber, vibration to 57 kN nominal sine force, dielectric HV testing, dimensional control, metallography and materials analysis. Third-party certification bodies including ASEFA, ASTA, LCIE, TUV Rheinland, DEKRA and OVE supervise testing on site under the IECEE OC scheme, and F-Lab is a founding member of the French high-power testing stations association ESEF for medium-voltage work. A Project Test Leader service manages certification programmes end-to-end with those bodies. Market focus is distinctive: military and merchant marine qualification with recognition from BV, RINA, DNV and Lloyd's and COFRAC accreditation for standards such as IACS E10 and Stanorg, EV charging station validation with E.V. Ready 1.461 and Z.E. Ready accreditations, and nuclear industry conformity testing including seismic qualification combining physical test and simulation.

UTAC has been advancing mobility since 1924 and is one of the principal European vehicle test and type-approval organisations, with sites at Linas-Montlhery and Mortefontaine in France, Millbrook and Leyland in the UK, Ivalo in Finland, Milan, Bucharest, Michigan, California, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo and Oued Zem. Its EMC operation is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory supporting clients from early development through to type-approval testing, on all vehicle types and propulsion systems, led by Alexandre Comte as Head of EMC Testing. The centrepiece is a 10-metre semi-anechoic vehicle chamber fitted with a turntable chassis dynamometer that accepts light, heavy and off-road vehicles - the combination of a 10 m measurement distance with a rolling road is what makes whole-vehicle radiated emissions and immunity work to CISPR 12, ISO 11451 and ECE R10 possible on trucks and agricultural machinery rather than passenger cars alone. Around it sit three further semi-anechoic chambers for equipment-level testing, one of which is a reverberation chamber for high field strength and statistical immunity work, and three dedicated laboratories for electrical testing of vehicles and components covering transient, ESD and supply variation work. A climatic chamber runs from -40 C to +150 C with humidity to 99 % RH, allowing combined environmental and electrical stress. EMC sits inside a much wider vehicle testing portfolio - acoustics, active and passive safety, NCAP, components, durability, emissions and energy, lighting, metrology, powertrain, tyres and cold climate testing - and alongside UTAC's regulatory arm covering homologation, certification, regulatory expertise, vehicle inspection and training, plus digital services in cybersecurity, simulation, connected and autonomous mobility. On-site testing is offered where transporting a vehicle or system is impractical.

Veoneer France Safety Systems operates an automotive electronics test laboratory at 21 rue du Petit Albi in Cergy, about 30 minutes from Paris, supporting validation and qualification testing for automotive electronic products. It is accredited to NF EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by COFRAC under accreditation number 1-7289 and recognised through the ILAC MRA. What makes it directory-relevant is the combination of deep OEM approvals with an unusually large chamber count for a captive laboratory: it is approved to Stellantis CS-00244, Ford FMC-1278 (listed on fordemc.com recognised laboratories), GM GMW3097, JLR EMC-CS v1.0 and Geely CEVT 8888621494/1, with other OEM approvals available on request. The EMC facility comprises four anechoic chambers covering radiated immunity and emission up to 6 GHz, a Faraday chamber for bulk current injection and stripline work up to 1 GHz, a reverberation chamber for immunity to 6 GHz, two robots for handy transmitter and ESD testing, and six test benches for electrical testing covering ESD, transient immunity and voltage variation. Accredited standards span CISPR 25, ISO 11452-2/-4/-5/-8/-9/-11, ISO 7637-2 and -3, ISO 10605 and ISO 16750-2, and notably extend to MIL-STD-461 and UK DEF STAN 59-411 - military EMC coverage that is rare in an automotive tier-one laboratory. The environmental side is equally deep: 21 climatic chambers reaching +180 C or -70 C, seven for temperature and humidity variation to 10 C/min, three for fast temperature variation at 12 C/min, three for thermal shock between -40 C and +85 C, three shakers to 13 kN, two thruster machines to 2,500 m/s2 and a rate table for IMU characterisation, tested to the EN 60068-2 and ISO 16750-3/-4 series. Visual inspection and cross-section analysis are performed under IPC-A-610 certification after a test campaign to find hidden weaknesses in PCBs, components or solder joints, and the laboratory's experts include ISO committee members in the EMC and environmental domains.
