Note: RMV Technology Group is a specialist ESD materials testing, training, and consulting organization, not a traditional EMC compliance test laboratory. Their focus is on ESD packaging, materials, and handling compliance for space, defense, medical, and pharmaceutical applications. RMV Technology Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Hispanic-owned NASA Industry Partner located onsite at NASA Ames Research Center, Space Portal Building 555, in Moffett Field, California. Founded in 2009 by Bob Vermillion — who was named ESD Technical Authority for NASA in 2018 — the company operates what it describes as the largest and most advanced ESD/EMI materials testing facility on a NASA site, and is a member of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL). The laboratory specializes in ESD and EMI materials testing, with particular expertise in qualifying packaging, storage, handling, transport, and kitting materials for use in harsh and low-humidity environments. Testing and consulting work addresses non-conformance and suspect counterfeiting in the supply chain, with a formal qualification process for volatile materials used in space, military, medical device, drug delivery, and wearable product applications. Technical staff includes iNARTE-certified engineers and EMC experts supporting government and industry clients across NASA, the Department of Defense, DOE, Fortune 100 companies, and academia. RMV is also internationally recognized for its iNARTE-certified training programs, developed in collaboration with Exemplar Global (an ASQ member certification body), with over 200 certified individuals from NASA, DoD, and DOE to date. Training courses cover ESD compliance, EMI materials, personnel safety, incoming inspection, procurement, and packaging qualification, and are offered to engineers, technicians, quality professionals, logistics specialists, and ESD coordinators across space and defense, consumer electronics, disk drive, medical device, and pharmaceutical sectors. Vermillion has been widely published in peer-reviewed articles and presented to the NASA Quality Leadership Forum on suspect counterfeit materials infiltrating the defense supply chain.
