Tecnolab del Lago Maggiore occupies a building on Via dell'Industria at Fondotoce, a frazione of Verbania on the shore of Lake Maggiore, and holds dual laboratory accreditation - ACCREDIA certificate 00754 in Italy and Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation number 89163 in the United States, both to ISO/IEC 17025 - so a single report can be recognised on either side of the Atlantic without re-testing. Its automotive laboratory is the most developed part of the business and publishes a precise standards list rather than a vague claim: CISPR 25 for radio disturbance measurement, ISO 7637-2 for conducted transients on supply lines and ISO 7637-3 for capacitive and inductive coupling on other lines, ISO 10605 for automotive electrostatic discharge, ISO 11452-2 for radiated immunity, and the full ISO 16750 series covering environmental and electrical conditions, electrical loads, mechanical vibration and climatic exposure. Around the EMC work sits the mechanical and climatic qualification an ECU programme actually needs: sinusoidal, random and shock vibration to IEC 60068-2-6, -2-27 and -2-64, cold, dry heat, temperature change, cyclic and steady damp heat and combined cycling to IEC 60068-2-1, -2-2, -2-14, -2-30, -2-38 and -2-78, salt mist to IEC 60068-2-11, IP ingress protection to ISO 20653, and IK impact protection by the vertical hammer method of IEC 62262 and IEC 60068-2-75. Testing is carried out both to the harmonised directives and to individual carmakers' own specifications, with debug and design-rework support when a part fails. Its test data is relied on by certification bodies including DVGW, ETA and the FCC, and it is active in the ANFIA and MESAP automotive and mechatronics clusters. Specialisations are automotive component qualification to OEM specifications, combined EMC with climatic, vibration and ingress protection testing, and dual Italian and US accreditation.
