Element Materials Technology
Element Minneapolis–Brooklyn Park is a Center of Excellence for EMC, radio, wireless, and medical device EMC testing, located northwest of the Twin Cities metropolitan area in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The facility is A2LA-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and serves manufacturers across IoT, industrial, consumer, household, and laboratory equipment markets. Chamber infrastructure includes a 10-meter semi-anechoic chamber for zero-ambient-noise emissions testing and two 3-meter chambers for emissions, immunity, and RF evaluations. EMC capabilities cover radiated emissions from 9 kHz to 40 GHz, radiated susceptibility to 20 V/m (80 MHz–6 GHz) and to 28 V/m under IEC 60601-1-2, conducted immunity including EFT/burst, surge on AC and telecom ports, and ESD up to 15 kV. Commercial product EMC is supported to FCC, EMC Directive, CISPR, IEC 61000-series, and VCCI-V3 standards, with full medical device EMC evaluation to IEC 60601-1-2. Radio and wireless testing spans Wi-Fi (2.4/5/6 GHz), Bluetooth/BLE, Zigbee, RFID (125 kHz and 13.56 MHz), MICS/MedRadio, short-range devices (433/868/915 MHz), ultra-wideband, and cellular module integration. An OTA chamber enables CTIA-compliant Over-the-Air testing including 3D antenna pattern measurements down to 400 MHz. The lab supports regulatory certifications for FCC, ISED Canada, MIC-R/MIC-T (Japan), CE/UKCA, and the EU/UK Radio Equipment Directives. Global market access services extend to 190+ countries, covering testing, certification, regulatory guidance, in-country representation, and translation support. Product types tested include home healthcare and clinical medical devices, hearing aids, IVD and infusion pump equipment, IT equipment, industrial control systems, IoT sensors and gateways, smart energy readers, and a wide range of other connected electronics.
