EM-6990B

Description
The EM Antennas EM-6990B is a broadband preamplifier covering 10 kHz to 2 GHz, designed primarily for use with the EM-6992 Near Field Probe Set in EMI diagnostic testing. With 31 dB of typical gain above 1 MHz and ±1 dB flatness across its operating range, it delivers a significant improvement in overall measurement sensitivity when used with spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, oscilloscopes, and other instruments — without compromising amplitude accuracy.
Key electrical specifications include a noise figure of 4.75 dB average above 10 MHz, a 1 dB compression point of -25 dBm nominal, an average input VSWR of 1.5:1, an average output VSWR of 1.7:1, and 50 Ω BNC female connectors. Gain tapers to 29 dB at 100 kHz and 18 dB at 10 kHz, making it well-suited for broadband diagnostic work from audio frequencies through the upper UHF range. Powered by an external +15V / 1A DC supply — included with the unit — the EM-6990B features integrated voltage regulation and filtering circuitry for reliable operation in both bench and field testing environments.
Physical dimensions are 76 × 39.37 × 46.5 mm (3.0″ × 1.55″ × 1.83″) with a weight of 400 g, making it one of the most compact preamplifiers in its class. Optional accessories include the EM-6992 Near Field Probe Kit and a 3 ft BNC-to-BNC coaxial cable.
