Description
The Laplace Instruments SA1020 is a general-purpose, battery-powered preamplifier covering 9 kHz to 1 GHz, designed for radiated emissions measurements in EMC testing environments. With 20 dB of gain (±1.5 dB) and a noise floor below 5 dBµV, it improves overall system sensitivity when placed between a receive antenna, LISN, or other RF transducer and the input of an EMI receiver or spectrum analyzer — allowing weak interference signals to be lifted above the instrument noise floor and measured accurately.
Key specifications include a maximum input level of -10 dBm and BNC connectors at both input and output. Battery operation from an internal PP3 9V battery at 35 mA eliminates conducted noise from mains supplies during sensitive radiated measurements and allows flexible positioning at the antenna without constraint from power cable routing. Physical dimensions are 114 × 106 × 45 mm with a weight of 212 g including the battery.
