
Description
The Schwarzbeck BBV 9719 is a low-noise, low-power millimeter-wave preamplifier with a nominal frequency range of 18 GHz to 26.5 GHz and a usable range of 12 GHz to 28 GHz, designed to increase sensitivity during field strength measurements and general attenuation characterization in the Ka-band. With a typical gain of 33 dB (±2 dB), a minimum gain of 30 dB, a noise figure of 3.5 dB, and a typical SWR of less than 2, it compensates for the significant cable attenuation and path loss encountered above 18 GHz — lifting weak signals above the system noise floor when placed directly at the antenna.
Key specifications include a maximum input power of -20 dBm (87 dBµV), a 1 dB compression point of greater than +17 dBm (124 dBµV) at output, and 50 Ω SMA connectors at both input and output. The housing is equipped with a female 3/8″ camera thread for mounting directly to a mast such as the Schwarzbeck AM 9144 modular antenna mast. A 0.5 m coaxial microwave cable with SMA-male connectors is supplied for connecting the antenna to the amplifier input, with the BBHA 9170 broadband horn antenna being the recommended pairing.
Power is supplied at 12–15 VDC / 250–300 mA via 4 mm banana sockets, compatible with an optional AC/DC adaptor, laboratory power supply, or rechargeable battery (Option Akku). Physical dimensions are 210 × 100 × 60 mm with a weight of 150 g.
