Description
The Schwarzbeck BBV 9744 B is a general-purpose broadband preamplifier covering 9 kHz to 8 GHz, designed to deliver high gain and low internal noise for EMC radiated emissions measurements against very low limits. With a typical gain of 29 dB from 9 kHz to 6 GHz and 27 dB from 6 GHz to 8 GHz, amplitude flatness of less than ±1.5 dB up to 6 GHz and ±2.5 dB to 8 GHz, and a noise figure of less than 2.7 dB at 1 GHz, the BBV 9744 B makes overall system noise nearly independent of downstream components — including cables and the receiver — making it particularly effective when connected directly to the antenna at the measurement site.
The BBV 9744 B is an updated version of the BBV 9744, featuring an extended frequency range to 8 GHz, improved input stage protection, a more reliable M8 3-pole DC power connector, and a reduced overall size and weight. Key specifications include a 1 dB input compression point of greater than -15 dBm and input/output VSWR of less than 2:1. The compact aluminum enclosure measures 85 × 36 × 29 mm and weighs just 130 g — making it one of the lightest broadband preamplifiers in its class and well-suited for direct antenna mounting without adding significant mechanical load to the antenna support structure.
Power is supplied via the M8 3-pole DC connector, compatible with the Schwarzbeck PS 230/12M8 or PS 120/12M8 power supplies, or the PS BBV Battery portable power supply module for field use. Compatible accessories and power supply options are available directly from Schwarzbeck.
