Description
The Schwarzbeck BBV 9748 is a general-purpose broadband preamplifier covering 10 MHz to 8 GHz, designed to deliver high gain and low internal noise for EMC radiated emissions measurements against very low limits. With a typical gain of 29 dB, amplitude flatness of less than ±3 dB, and a noise figure of 2.7 dB at 1 GHz, the BBV 9748 makes overall system noise nearly independent of downstream components — including cables and the receiver — making it particularly effective when connected directly to the antenna at the measurement site.
Key specifications include a 1 dB input compression point of greater than -17 dBm and input/output VSWR of less than 2:1. The compact aluminum enclosure measures 85 × 36 × 29 mm and weighs 130 g, making it well-suited for direct antenna mounting without adding significant mechanical load to the antenna support structure. Operating temperature range is -10°C to +60°C.
Power is supplied via a standard +10–15 VDC wall plug supply at 120 mA, compatible with the Schwarzbeck PS BBV Battery portable power supply module for field use. The built-in voltage regulator means any standard +12 VDC supply can be used without additional conditioning. A datasheet is available directly from Schwarzbeck.
