Description
The Sonoma Instrument 330 is a broadband preamplifier covering 10 kHz to 2.5 GHz (-3 dB), designed for EMI measurements, antenna signal amplification, and general-purpose RF signal amplification applications requiring wide frequency coverage and excellent gain flatness. With a gain of 20 ±1.5 dB at 1 GHz and flatness of ±0.5 dB typical / ±0.75 dB maximum from 20 kHz to 2 GHz, it delivers consistent and predictable amplitude performance across a very wide bandwidth — making it a practical general-purpose solution for improving instrument sensitivity across the full sub-GHz and lower microwave range.
Key specifications include a noise figure of 7.3 dB typical / 8 dB maximum at 100 MHz, a maximum output level of +11.7 dBm at 1 GHz, an output at 1 dB gain compression of +9.7 dBm, harmonic distortion of -43 dBc, and a third order intercept point of +22 dBm. Input return loss is 14 dB and output return loss is 10 dB, both across the operating range. Reverse isolation is 40 dB typical. The unit is AC coupled with 50 Ω impedance and is available with either BNC or Type N female connectors at both input and output.
The unit is mains-powered at 100, 120, 220, or 240V AC / 50–60 Hz at 20 VA. Physical dimensions are 91 × 109 × 183 mm (H × W × D) — identical in form factor to the Sonoma 310, 315, and 321 — with a net weight of 1.5 kg.
