TPA0118-35

The Toyo TPA0118-35 is a wideband, low-noise preamplifier covering 1 GHz to 18 GHz, designed to resolve the sensitivity shortfall that arises during EMI compliance measurements above 1 GHz where spectrum analyzer noise figures are high and horn antenna gain is limited. With a minimum gain of 35 dB, gain flatness of ±2.7 dB, and a maximum noise figure of 2.5 dB, it delivers the sensitivity improvement needed to confidently determine whether a DUT satisfies the limit values specified in CISPR, FCC, and MIL-STD standards — across a frequency range that extends more than twice as wide as the TPA0108-40, covering the full 1–18 GHz measurement band in a single instrument.

Key specifications include a minimum output power of +10 dBm and input/output VSWR of 2.5:1 maximum. The unit uses an SMA female input connector and is housed in a compact enclosure fitted with a large heat sink for effective thermal management during continuous operation. An exclusive AC power supply unit is included for straightforward bench and chamber deployment. The compact form factor allows installation directly in the pit beneath an anechoic chamber floor or under a receive antenna, minimising cable length between the antenna and the preamplifier input.
