Description
The US Micro Labs USMC10180H is a rugged, high-gain, low-noise preamplifier covering 100 MHz to 18 GHz, designed for the most demanding EMC radiated emissions measurements where maximum sensitivity improvement is required across the full sub-18 GHz range. With a typical gain of 49 dB (48 dB minimum, 50 dB maximum) — 24.5 dB more than the USMC10180L — gain flatness of ±3 dB, a typical noise figure of 3 dB above 1 GHz (2.5 dB minimum, 4.5 dB maximum), and a P1dB of 12–16 dBm, it is the natural choice for setups where long cable runs, high-loss switch matrices, or measurements at extended test distances significantly degrade system sensitivity before the receiver front end. Input and output VSWR are both 2.5:1 maximum, and maximum input/reverse output power is +17 dBm. Non-destructive reverse polarity protection is included.
The USMC10180H is available in two power variants. The USMC10180HA is powered externally at 11–15 VDC via a waterproof circular connector with threaded lock, drawing 370 mA typical — suited for fixed chamber and bench installations. The USMC10180HB includes an internal rechargeable battery operating at 17–19 VDC with approximately 5 hours of battery life, drawing 65–870 mA depending on charge state — the higher current draw reflecting the additional gain stage compared to the L variant. Both variants are rated IP65 and share the same compact housing measuring 108.0 × 58.61 × 171.0 mm (W × H × D) without bracket, or 191.0 mm depth with bracket. The HA variant weighs 0.54–0.59 kg and operates from -30°C to +85°C; the HB variant weighs 0.82–0.86 kg and operates from 0°C to +50°C.
