Description
The US Micro Labs USMC10180L is a rugged, low-noise preamplifier covering 100 MHz to 18 GHz, designed for EMC radiated emissions measurements in both laboratory and field environments. With a typical gain of 24.5 dB (24 dB minimum, 25 dB maximum), gain flatness of ±1.5 dB, a typical noise figure of 3 dB above 1 GHz (2.5 dB minimum, 4.5 dB maximum), and a P1dB of 12–16 dBm, it delivers consistent sensitivity and amplitude accuracy across a frequency range spanning from below the CISPR radiated emissions band through 18 GHz — making it well-suited for measurements against CISPR, FCC, and MIL-STD limit lines across the full sub-18 GHz measurement range. Input and output VSWR are both 2.5:1 maximum, and maximum input/reverse output power is +17 dBm. Non-destructive reverse polarity protection is included.
The USMC10180L is available in two power variants. The USMC10180LA is powered externally at 11–15 VDC via a waterproof circular connector with threaded lock, drawing 190 mA typical — suited for fixed chamber and bench installations. The USMC10180LB includes an internal rechargeable battery operating at 17–19 VDC with approximately 10 hours of battery life, drawing 65–690 mA depending on charge state — eliminating cable routing constraints and conducted noise from external supplies in antenna-side field setups. Both variants are rated IP65 and share the same compact housing measuring 108.0 × 58.61 × 171.0 mm (W × H × D) without bracket, or 191.0 mm depth with bracket. The LA variant weighs 0.54–0.59 kg and operates from -30°C to +85°C; the LB variant weighs 0.82–0.86 kg and operates from 0°C to +50°C.
