R&S®ESL6
Discontinued
Description
The R&S ESL6 extends the ESL platform to 6 GHz, covering the full span from 9 kHz through CISPR band E in both receiver and spectrum analyzer modes. It shares the ESL3's detector complement and scan architecture — up to four simultaneous detectors including quasi-peak, CISPR-average, CISPR-RMS, RMS, average, and both peak polarities — while adding the upper-frequency reach needed for radiated emissions pre-compliance screening on products with wireless subsystems or high-speed digital interfaces. A tracking generator option (variant .16) covers the full 1 MHz to 6 GHz span and provides up to 80 dB dynamic range from 10 MHz to 2 GHz.
Level measurement uncertainty remains below 0.5 dB total (95% confidence) from 10 MHz to 3 GHz, increasing to less than 0.8 dB between 3 GHz and 6 GHz — both figures at +20 °C to +30 °C. With the optional FSL-B22 internal preamplifier, noise indication improves by approximately 15 dBµV across the frequency range, bringing 50 MHz–1 GHz sensitivity down to better than +6 dBµV and 1–3 GHz down to better than +15 dBµV. The instrument connects via LAN as standard and accepts GPIB through the FSL-B10 option; an optional DC input (FSL-B30) and NiMH battery pack (FSL-B31) support field deployment.
