Description
The R&S ESR26 extends the ESR platform to 26.5 GHz, making it the broadest-coverage variant in the family and enabling EMI measurements across the full CISPR frequency range and well into the millimeter-wave transition region. The primary input is DC coupled from 9 kHz to 26.5 GHz with an APC 3.5 mm test port (adapters to N female and 3.5 mm female supplied); a second DC-coupled input covers 9 kHz to 1 GHz. Above 7 GHz the fixed bandpass preselector is replaced by a YIG filter that follows the tuned frequency continuously, maintaining strong out-of-band rejection across the upper microwave range. The preamplifier gain is 20 dB (nom.) from 1 kHz to 7 GHz, increasing to 30 dB (nom.) from 7 GHz to 26.5 GHz.
DANL with the preamplifier on reaches –164 dBm (typ.) from 7.4 to 13.6 GHz (normalized to 1 Hz), while noise indication in receiver mode with the preamplifier on stays below +10 dBµV from 13.6 GHz to 26.5 GHz at 1 MHz bandwidth. Total measurement uncertainty with preselection on is warranted at 0.47 dB from 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz and 1.34 dB from 13.6 GHz to 26.5 GHz at 95% confidence — both figures at +20 °C to +30 °C. As on the other ESR variants, the optional ESR-B50 hardware board is required before the K53 time domain scan or K55 real-time analysis firmware keys can be activated. The K55 real-time option supports spans up to 40 MHz below 7 GHz and up to 30 MHz above 7 GHz in overview mode, with a minimum detectable signal duration of 25 ns (nom.) at 40 MHz span.
