About
Dayton T. Brown, Inc. (DTB) is a US-owned and operated testing, engineering, and technical services company founded in 1950, with primary facilities in Bohemia, New York and Hollywood, Maryland. The company is A2LA-accredited (Cert. No. 0767.02) and NVLAP-accredited (Lab Code 200422-0) for EMI/EMC and RTCA/DO-160 testing, and holds NSA certification under the TEMPEST Test Services Program with in-house Certified TEMPEST Professionals (CTPs). DTB is a Department of Defense preferred provider with deep roots in military, aerospace, and defense testing.
EMI/EMC capabilities span the full spectrum of military and aerospace requirements: conducted and radiated emissions, conducted and radiated susceptibility, RTCA/DO-160 (all sections, emissions and susceptibility up to 40 GHz, radiated fields exceeding 200 V/m), MIL-STD-461 (revisions A through G), ESD, EMP testing (RS105 radiated and CS116 conducted), lightning testing (single-stroke, multi-stroke, and multi-burst per RTCA/DO-160 Section 22, MIL-STD-461G CS117, and SAE ARP5412), shipboard electrical testing (MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-461D/E/F), and shielding effectiveness (IEEE 299, MIL-STD-285, IEC 61726). The facility includes large semi-anechoic chambers, a reverberation/stirred-mode chamber built in collaboration with the US Navy for large armament system testing, and the largest RS105 EMP simulator in any US non-government facility. A dedicated Positive Train Control (PTC) lab supports railroad system compliance with FRA regulations. Power quality testing covers MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1399, RTCA/DO-160, and commercial aviation specifications including high power AC (480 V, 3-phase, 600 A) and DC (300 V, 150 A) capabilities.
Industries served include military and defense, aerospace and aviation, space, rail and transit, maritime, automotive, medical, heavy equipment, and electric propulsion. DTB has performed testing for programs involving the Astrobotic Peregrine Lunar Lander and is a trusted partner to organizations such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and BAE Systems.
