About
Intertek's Skaneateles Falls laboratory is the company's largest electrical testing facility in North America, located at 4341 State Street in Skaneateles Falls, New York, in the Finger Lakes region of central New York. The lab holds A2LA accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (Certificate 1350.04, valid through June 2026) and is recognized for FCC testing of unintentional radiators and ISM equipment up to 40 GHz. A defining strength of this facility is its deep medical device testing expertise. The lab holds product safety accreditation for IEC 60601-1 across Editions 2 and 3 (including amendments), the U.S. national deviation (ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1), and Canadian CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1, along with over a dozen particular standards in the 60601-2 and 80601-2 series covering electrocardiographs, monitoring equipment, blood pressure devices, operating tables, multifunction patient monitors, clinical thermometers, and patient hoists. Software lifecycle (IEC 62304), usability (IEC 62366/60601-1-6), alarm systems (60601-1-8), and home healthcare (60601-1-11) are also in scope. Beyond medical, the lab is accredited for IEC/UL 62368-1 for ITE/audio-visual equipment safety. On the EMC side, emissions testing covers radiated and conducted emissions to FCC Part 15B, ICES-001/003, CISPR 11, CISPR 22, CISPR 32, EN 55011, EN 55032, and regional variants including AS/NZS, Korean (KS C), Israeli (SI 961), and VCCI standards. Medical EMC testing to IEC 60601-1-2 is accredited across Editions 2 through 4+Am1, including the Australian AIM 7351731 standard. Current harmonics and voltage flicker testing to the IEC 61000-3-2 and 3-3 series is also covered. The full IEC 61000-4 immunity suite is accredited — ESD (4-2), radiated RF immunity (4-3), EFT/burst (4-4), surge (4-5), conducted immunity (4-6), power frequency magnetic field (4-8), and voltage dips and interruptions (4-11). Product-specific EMC accreditations cover laboratory equipment (the full IEC 61326 series including parts 2-1 through 2-6), wireless coexistence (ANSI C63.27), and ISM equipment emissions to FCC Part 18. The lab also holds mechanical testing accreditation for IP ingress protection testing to IEC 60529 and vibration and shock testing to IEC 60068-2-64 and IEC 60068-2-27 — capabilities that complement the electrical testing scope for products requiring combined environmental and EMC qualification.
