Lichtig EMC Consulting is an EMC consultancy founded by John F. Lichtig, a NARTE-certified EMC engineer with over 35 years of experience in the field. The firm provides electromagnetic compatibility consultation services across the aerospace, telecommunications, information technology equipment, and automotive industries. The consultancy's services cover the full spectrum of EMC program support: developing EMC specifications, criteria, and test plans; test witnessing; risk analysis; and mitigation strategies. Lichtig EMC Consulting also offers training and technical translation services in both English and Spanish. John Lichtig's background is deeply rooted in EMC standards development. He spent 15 years with Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore) in their EMC Group, where he was responsible for RF interference suppression and the development of RFI immunity and emission standards for telecommunications facilities — most notably Section 3 (EMI) of GR-1089-CORE, the widely referenced standard for EMC and electrical safety of network telecommunications equipment. He holds a BSEE from Northeastern University and an M.Eng. (Electrical) from Cornell University. On the standards side, Lichtig is a member of ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C63 on EMC, a past chairman of ANSI ASC C63 Subcommittee 3 on International Standardization, and a past chairman of CISPR/I/WG3, which maintained CISPR 22 and CISPR 24 — the foundational international standards for emissions and immunity of IT equipment. He is also a member of IEEE, Eta Kappa Nu, and Tau Beta Pi.
