MESCO Engineering is a multidisciplinary engineering services firm with offices in Lörrach and Freiburg, Germany; Windisch, Switzerland; and Fort Lee, New Jersey, USA. Among its broader hardware and software development offerings, MESCO operates its own EMC test center and provides EMC engineering and consulting services, particularly for the industrial automation, medical technology, and process automation sectors. Rather than functioning as a standalone third-party test lab, MESCO's EMC laboratory is tightly integrated with their product development services. Their EMC engineers work alongside hardware designers from the circuit development stage through to CE marking, with the goal of building compliance into the product from the start. If EMC issues are found, their development experts — including specialists in explosion protection, functional safety, and fieldbus communication — can implement fixes directly in CAD, avoiding the need for full redesigns. The EMC test center supports conducted interference measurements and immunity tests in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, covering national, European, and international standards including DIN, VDE, EN, IEC, CISPR, and NAMUR. Specific capabilities include conducted interference voltage measurements per EN 55011 and EN 55022 (150 kHz to 30 MHz), preliminary radiated emissions testing (30 MHz to 1 GHz), and immunity testing per the EN 61000-4 series. The facility also includes thermal and humidity test equipment and dedicated test stations for industrial Ethernet communication protocols such as PROFINET, EtherCAT, PROFIsafe, and FSoE, enabling pre-certification testing for both EMC and communication compliance. Additional EMC services include training courses and CE seminars, conformity assessments, consulting on interference suppression measures, and detailed test documentation. Where formal certification is required, MESCO can arrange test reports from a certified test laboratory.
