NU Laboratories, Inc. is a full-service EMI/EMC and environmental testing laboratory located at 312 Old Allerton Road in Annandale, New Jersey, and is a company of Noise Unlimited, Inc. The lab offers full-service EMI/EMC testing, failure analysis, and mitigation recommendations, with a particular focus on military and shipboard specifications. The EMI/EMC facility houses two shielded enclosures. The primary chamber is a Panashield semi-anechoic electromagnetic shielded enclosure with inside dimensions of 23' × 16' × 12' and a usable test area of 10.7' × 9.8', lined with 20-inch carbon-impregnated cone absorber material and conforming to MIL-STD-461E/F. The second chamber is a Universal Shielding Corp. enclosure measuring 12' × 9' × 9'. Both chambers have fully filtered power. A notable facility feature is a double-wide chamber entry door (72" × 89") accommodating large equipment under test, supported by a 5,000 lb forklift, in-house welding, custom fixture fabrication, waveguide feed-throughs for hydraulic and pneumatic lines, cooling water (100 psig), and compressed air (100 psi). A magnetic loop antenna with 66" inside diameter is also available. EMC power capabilities cover DC through 480V AC up to 100 amps, LISN up to 800V DC and 500V AC at up to 200 amps, and radiated immunity over 10 V/m from 10 kHz to 18 GHz. Standards tested include MIL-STD-461C/D/E/F, MIL-STD-1399 Sections 300A and 300B (shipboard systems interface), DOD-STD-1300 Section 070 (DC magnetic field environment), IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD up to 15 kV), MIL-STD-285 (shielding enclosure attenuation measurements), and RTCA/DO-160 D/E/F/G. Chamber and test equipment are also available for hourly or daily rental for R&D purposes. Additional testing services include dynamics (shock and vibration), climatics, acoustics, and engineering support.
