LNA 6901

Description
The Teseq LNA 6901 is a high-gain, low-noise preamplifier with a nominal frequency range of 9 kHz to 1 GHz and usable performance up to 2 GHz, designed to significantly improve the sensitivity of spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, and other RF measurement instruments in EMC compliance testing environments. With a typical gain of 28 dB and a typical noise figure of 2.8 dB — substantially lower than the LNA 6900 — it is the preferred choice when maximum sensitivity in the sub-gigahertz range is the priority, bringing the effective system noise figure close to that of the preamplifier itself and revealing signals that would otherwise be masked by instrument noise.
The 3 dB improvement in noise figure compared to the LNA 6900 makes the LNA 6901 particularly well-suited for measurements against very low limit lines — such as CISPR 25 automotive radiated emissions limits, which can require detecting signals well below the noise floor of a standard spectrum analyzer. Supported test standards include CISPR 13, CISPR 14-1, CISPR 15, CISPR 16-1-1, CISPR 16-2-3, CISPR 22, CISPR 25, CISPR 32, EN 61000-6-3, EN 61000-6-4, MIL-STD-461, and RTCA/DO-160 — covering the full range of commercial, automotive, and aerospace EMC emissions requirements. The LNA 6901 is part of the Teseq RF system components and accessories range, manufactured under the AMETEK CTS group.
