About
AKUVIB Engineering and Testing GmbH is an independent German test house at Sinterstrasse 6 in Bochum, founded in early 2004 and now operating one of the most comprehensive single-site validation estates in the country under the banner 'One Stop Testing'. The company began in acoustics, vibration, environmental simulation and FEM calculation, added machine diagnostics in 2005 and acoustic-emission material testing in 2007, commissioned what it describes as Europe's most powerful HALT system in 2008, and moved into a purpose-built 7,000 m2 facility in early 2014. The EMC department is the newest arm: planned from early 2016, built out from mid-2016 with an absorber hall giving a 3 m measurement distance plus several shielded cabins, completed that December and operational from early 2017, with an adjoining visitor room so customers can watch their own tests. It is DAkkS-accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 for EMC under D-PL-11133-01-01 and separately appointed and accredited as a KBA Technical Service under KBA-P 00123-24 and D-PL-11133-01-02 for electrical and electronic testing of systems, components and separate technical units for motor vehicles and trailers within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2018/858. Published EMC capability is unusually specific: radiated emissions field strength from 10 Hz to 6 GHz, disturbance voltage and current to 400 MHz, three-phase harmonics and flicker to 690 V and 75 A, magnetic field emission from DC to 400 MHz including ICNIRP 1998 and 2010 human-protection assessment, RF immunity at 3 m to 54 V/m with automotive levels above 200 V/m from 80 MHz to 6 GHz and radar pulses to 600 V/m, burst to 5.5 kV and surge to 5 kV, coupled disturbance voltages to 230 MHz, bulk current injection to 400 MHz, automotive test pulses, magnetic field immunity from DC to 1 MHz including pulsed and damped oscillatory fields, and ESD to 30 kV on both air and contact discharge. It also does mains quality and harmonic analysis, long-term measurement and insertion loss (s-parameter) work. The OEM acceptance list is one of the broadest published anywhere and covers BMW, Claas, FCA, Ford, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, John Deere, Mercedes-Benz, PSA, Renault/Nissan, Scania, VinFast, Volvo and VW. EMC can be combined on one site with environmental simulation, five shaker systems to 90 kN with slip tables and climatic chambers, a HALT rig exceeding 110 gRMS, an all-wheel power dynamometer inside a climatic chamber with wind and solar simulation for electric vehicles, acoustics, material testing and FEM.
