A Labs GmbH is an engineering, product development and testing agency headquartered at Fruchtallee 17 in Hamburg, with more than 20 years of experience, over 70 products developed and more than a million end users worldwide. Its EMC capability sits inside an in-house prototyping and test laboratory rather than being sold as a standalone accredited service: the laboratory is deliberately integrated into the development workflow so that EMC, safety and cybersecurity are verified continuously rather than surfacing as late-stage surprises just before launch. EMC and ESD work covers emission and immunity testing to EN 301 489-1, EN 55032 (CISPR 32), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-4-2, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-6-3, EN 61000-6-4 and EN 62920, with spectrum analysis, pre-compliance testing, preparation for formal accredited tests, EMC debugging and support through the whole certification process. A distinctive second strand is grid and energy testing of power generating plants and batteries connected to the public low-voltage network to VDE-AR-N 4105, DIN VDE V 0126-95 and EN 62920, covering inverter and battery testing, network and system protection (NS Protection), grid connection and disconnection behaviour, system efficiency and power quality and harmonics - capability aimed squarely at the German grid-connection approval regime and uncommon in a general EMC directory. Medical device work is software-and-verification oriented to EN 60601-1 and IEC 62304 rather than chamber-based, covering V&V of medical device software, risk assessment, test plan development, automated regression and integration testing and test report documentation. The team also builds fully customised functional test environments including hardware-in-the-loop rigs integrated into CI/CD pipelines, and offers cybersecurity testing and consulting against the Radio Equipment Directive cybersecurity provisions (EN 18031-1/-2/-3) and the Cyber Resilience Act (EU 2024/2847). Devices can be brought to the Hamburg lab or shipped in for a remote-debugging session. Sectors served include energy, healthcare and medical technology, agriculture, industrial and manufacturing applications, IoT and cloud platforms and consumer electronics.

AKUVIB Engineering and Testing GmbH is an independent German test house at Sinterstrasse 6 in Bochum, founded in early 2004 and now operating one of the most comprehensive single-site validation estates in the country under the banner 'One Stop Testing'. The company began in acoustics, vibration, environmental simulation and FEM calculation, added machine diagnostics in 2005 and acoustic-emission material testing in 2007, commissioned what it describes as Europe's most powerful HALT system in 2008, and moved into a purpose-built 7,000 m2 facility in early 2014. The EMC department is the newest arm: planned from early 2016, built out from mid-2016 with an absorber hall giving a 3 m measurement distance plus several shielded cabins, completed that December and operational from early 2017, with an adjoining visitor room so customers can watch their own tests. It is DAkkS-accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 for EMC under D-PL-11133-01-01 and separately appointed and accredited as a KBA Technical Service under KBA-P 00123-24 and D-PL-11133-01-02 for electrical and electronic testing of systems, components and separate technical units for motor vehicles and trailers within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2018/858. Published EMC capability is unusually specific: radiated emissions field strength from 10 Hz to 6 GHz, disturbance voltage and current to 400 MHz, three-phase harmonics and flicker to 690 V and 75 A, magnetic field emission from DC to 400 MHz including ICNIRP 1998 and 2010 human-protection assessment, RF immunity at 3 m to 54 V/m with automotive levels above 200 V/m from 80 MHz to 6 GHz and radar pulses to 600 V/m, burst to 5.5 kV and surge to 5 kV, coupled disturbance voltages to 230 MHz, bulk current injection to 400 MHz, automotive test pulses, magnetic field immunity from DC to 1 MHz including pulsed and damped oscillatory fields, and ESD to 30 kV on both air and contact discharge. It also does mains quality and harmonic analysis, long-term measurement and insertion loss (s-parameter) work. The OEM acceptance list is one of the broadest published anywhere and covers BMW, Claas, FCA, Ford, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, John Deere, Mercedes-Benz, PSA, Renault/Nissan, Scania, VinFast, Volvo and VW. EMC can be combined on one site with environmental simulation, five shaker systems to 90 kN with slip tables and climatic chambers, a HALT rig exceeding 110 gRMS, an all-wheel power dynamometer inside a climatic chamber with wind and solar simulation for electric vehicles, acoustics, material testing and FEM.

BLOCKLab is the test laboratory of BLOCK Transformatoren-Elektronik GmbH at Max-Planck-Strasse 36-46 in Verden, Lower Saxony, a manufacturer of transformers, switched-mode power supplies, UPS modules, electronic circuit breakers, reactors and EMI filters supplying industry worldwide. The laboratory was built to test BLOCK's own products and now operates as an independent business unit offering EMC testing as a service, focused deliberately on the basic standards relevant to capital-goods industrial products rather than attempting broad market coverage. It is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 - note that BLOCKLab does not publish an ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, so reports are manufacturer-certified rather than accredited. The centrepiece is a large full anechoic chamber with hybrid absorbers, giving a 3 m measurement distance and taking test items up to 1,500 mm wide by 2,300 mm high weighing as much as 2,000 kg on the turntable - an unusually high load rating for a full-anechoic rather than semi-anechoic room, reflecting the heavy transformer and cabinet-scale equipment the lab was designed around. Published capability includes radiated emissions from 9 kHz to 6 GHz, conducted emissions from 10 kHz to 30 MHz at up to 200 A per phase, ESD to 30 kV, radiated immunity from 80 MHz to 6 GHz at up to 40 V/m, burst to 5 kV, surge to 5 kV with a 24 kV impulse voltage test, and conducted RF immunity from 150 kHz to 230 MHz. The 200 A per phase conducted emissions rating and the 24 kV impulse capability are the standout numbers for anyone testing power-conversion hardware. Standards coverage is weighted towards power and industrial equipment: DIN EN 55011, the EN 61000-3 and 61000-6 families, EN 61204-3 for power supply units, EN 61131-2 for programmable logic controllers, EN 61800-3 for adjustable speed electrical equipment, EN 62040-2 for UPS, EN 55014 and EN 55015, plus a full railway set covering EN 50121-3-2 rolling stock, EN 50121-4 signalling and telecommunications, EN 50121-5 railway power supply systems and installations, and EN 50155 electronic equipment on railway vehicles. A mobile testing service brings compact measurement equipment to customer sites anywhere in Germany and nearby regions, allowing large or stationary installations and integrated components to be measured without disassembly or transport. The same lab also offers material analysis and shock and vibration testing.

The Chair of Electromagnetic Compatibility (Fachgebiet Elektromagnetische Vertraeglichkeit) at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sven Boenisch, offers its EMC laboratory to industry through the university's technology transfer route. It is based on the Senftenberg campus at Universitaetsplatz 1 in room 14E.502 and covers the EMC testing relevant to CE certification of devices and installations, working either on finished equipment in the laboratory, alongside development, or on the customer's own site. This is a university research group rather than a commercial accredited test house - no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is published - so the natural fit is development-phase measurement, interference analysis, EMC optimisation of systems and EMC- and RF-aware circuit and assembly design, alongside consultancy on any EMC question. Named product-standard capability covers welding equipment (EN 60974-10), electrical measurement, control and laboratory equipment (EN 61326-1, -2-1, -2-2 and -2-6) and medical electrical equipment (EN 60601-1-2). Published measurement capability runs to electromagnetic fields from DC to 18 GHz at up to 100 V/m for both emission and immunity, disturbance voltages from 9 kHz to 30 MHz on the emission side and 0.1 Hz to 80 MHz on the immunity side, harmonic currents and voltages, flicker, voltage dips and interruptions, ESD to 15 kV, burst to 4 kV and surge to 4 kV. The equipment list is where a university lab shows its character: standard-compliant test benches for conducted and radiated disturbances sit alongside a 7.30 x 3.90 x 2.70 m mode-stirred reverberation chamber, an MEB GTEM 1250 cell, a Spitzenberger & Spies EMV D 15000/PAS three-phase mains simulator, a four-wire 230/400 V 63 A LISN covering 9 kHz to 30 MHz, a Rohde & Schwarz ESU measuring receiver spanning 20 Hz to 26.5 GHz, various network and spectrum analysers, a NARDA SRM-3006 field strength meter with E- and H-field probes, and a dedicated bench for characterising power semiconductors at 1,000 V and 300 A - the last being a genuinely distinctive capability for anyone working on power electronics EMI at source.

CE-LAB GmbH operates a test centre at Am Hammergrund 1 in Ilmenau, Thuringia, focused on EMC testing alongside electrical safety, energy and high-voltage technology, lightning and surge protection, climatic testing and environmental simulation, calibration, CE marking and international product approval, plus consulting and training. An important distinction for directory purposes: CE-LAB describes itself as a laboratory working to the quality principles of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, implemented through an internal laboratory management handbook, rather than as a DAkkS-accredited body - its test reports meet the standard's requirements for result reports and have been used by customers for product certification for more than 20 years, but no accreditation certificate is published. Its formal status instead comes from the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt: CE-LAB is a KBA-designated Technical Service in categories A, B and D under KBA-P 00079, with the designation renewed in March 2025, covering the test procedures listed in the designation certificate and its annex. Quality is maintained through equipment calibration, test-bench validation, participation in interlaboratory comparisons, documented procedures and regular review of technical equipment, staff competence and neutrality. EMC testing is offered both at Ilmenau and directly at the customer's site, and the laboratory publishes a downloadable list of executable EMC laboratory tests. For development-accompanying activities or novel applications, specially adapted test procedures can be developed, trialled and introduced jointly with the client. The surrounding capability is what makes the site distinctive: dielectric strength testing and high-current assessment on electrical installations, AC and DC high-voltage test systems in its own laboratory, lightning current and impulse voltage testing to various standards and application areas, and long-term climatic and environmental simulation. CE-LAB also runs working groups on EMC and lightning protection and participates in the ELMUG device-safety specialist group. The company operates on a flexible commercial model - customers can bring their own test plan, work on a time-and-materials basis, or book a fixed block of hours - under the principle of no test without a test plan.

ELMAC GmbH EMV-Labor J. Buehne is an independent EMC test laboratory at Boschstrasse 2 in Bondorf, Baden-Wuerttemberg, active in EMC testing since its founding in 1990 and accredited since 1993 - originally by the Deutscher Akkreditierungsrat (DAR) and maintained continuously since, with re-assessment by DAkkS for EMC and by the Zentralstelle der Laender fuer Gesundheitsschutz (ZLG) for medical technology. The ZLG involvement is worth noting: medical device EMC accreditation in Germany runs through ZLG rather than DAkkS alone, and ELMAC holds both. Since 2001 it has been a KBA-designated Technical Service, performing E1 type approval testing and handling the approval of vehicle components with the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt. Testing stations comprise two absorber halls with 1 m and 3 m measurement distances covering emission and immunity to 6 GHz, an open-area test site with a 10 m measurement distance, a conducted emissions station covering AC, DC, telecommunication lines and load connections from 9 kHz to 30 MHz, and two shielded rooms for conducted immunity. Published limits are specific and honest about their constraints: surge to 4 kV and voltage dips and interruptions are single-phase only, as are the two harmonics and flicker stations; burst reaches 4 kV, conducted RF runs 10 kHz to 230 MHz, ESD to 30 kV, and power-frequency magnetic field immunity is standard to 30 A/m. BCI covers 2 MHz to 250 MHz, there is an automotive station for conducted transient immunity (pulses), near-field radiated immunity from 30 kHz to 13.56 MHz, and conducted asymmetric immunity from 0 Hz to 150 kHz. Recent accreditation additions cover IEC 61000-4-16, EN 60601-1-2:2015+A1:2021 (IEC 60601-1-2 Ed. 4.1) and EN 61000-4-39:2017, with non-accredited testing offered to ETSI EN 300 220-3. Product groups covered include industrial and scientific measurement and control equipment, medical technology, IT equipment, household appliances and hand-held power tools, automotive electrical/electronic sub-assemblies (EUB), lighting, and EMVU environmental field measurement. Holding discrete DAkkS partial accreditations specifically for FCC and ISED means North American market access can be handled from Burgrieden rather than routed through a US or Canadian laboratory, and the company is additionally recognised by the Bundesnetzagentur as a listed measuring station and as a conformity assessment body recognised by US authorities, with reports carried by the MRA and ILAC-MRA. The facility centres on a fully anechoic room with absorber material lining the ceiling, floor and walls, backed by alternative open-area test sites at 3 m and 10 m measurement distances, and a variable power supply rated 3 x 5,000 W or 1 x 10,000 W. Test procedures are validated in accordance with DIN EN 61326-1 for precise and reproducible results, and internal quality assurance documents and reviews every test operation. Named sector coverage spans automotive, medical, household appliances, IT and multimedia, radio, and industry and rail. Beyond measurement the company offers pre- and post-test engineering work including circuit and layout review and advice on device concept design, drawing on its own background in product development and circuit design - positioning itself as a laboratory that can diagnose and fix an EMC problem rather than only reporting it.

J. Schmitz GmbH operates an EMC competence centre at Rosenheim in Upper Bavaria, running a DAkkS-accredited test laboratory with three dedicated measurement rooms alongside an engineering consultancy. The practice is built around diagnostic work rather than certification throughput: its signature service is hotspot location, in which near-field probing and scanning techniques are used to trace an emission back to the specific track, cable or component radiating it, so that a failing board can be fixed at source instead of buried under filtering. That capability feeds a development-support model in which engineers are brought in during the design phase, run investigative and pre-compliance measurements, and iterate with the customer until the design clears the limits before an accredited report is issued. Accredited testing covers the standard European suite - conducted and radiated emissions, harmonic current and flicker, and the IEC 61000-4 immunity family including electrostatic discharge, fast transient burst, RF conducted and radiated immunity, surge and voltage dips - assessed against the EN 61000-6 generic standards and the relevant product families for CE marking under the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the German EMVG. For plant and machinery too large to bring into the chambers, the firm measures on site at the customer's premises. It also prepares the accompanying compliance paperwork: technical documentation, risk assessment and declarations of conformity. Specialisations are EMC troubleshooting and design support, machinery and industrial installations, and pre-compliance measurement for small and mid-sized manufacturers.

EMV Rhein-Neckar GmbH is an EMC laboratory at Dornierstrasse 5a in Viernheim, Hesse, founded at the end of 2000 by Dipl.-Ing. Martin Klaus and Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Andreas Stolz. Its origin is unusual and worth knowing: the company emerged from the former EMC group of the ABB research centre, so the founding team carried industrial-research EMC experience into an independent laboratory. It is DAkkS-accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, with the scope defined in annex D-PL-19334-01-01. The published capability table is one of the most precisely specified of any lab this size. Emissions cover disturbance voltage from 10 kHz to 30 MHz on artificial mains networks including automotive on-board supplies up to 108 MHz, disturbance current from 10 kHz to 1 GHz via current clamps, disturbance field strength from 10 kHz to 30 MHz using rod and loop antennas for electric and magnetic field, 30 to 1000 MHz on a BiLog antenna and 1 to 6 GHz on a horn antenna in a 3 m absorber chamber, and disturbance power 30 to 1000 MHz by absorbing clamp. Immunity runs ESD at 15 kV air and 8 kV contact, RF field 20 V/m with 80 % AM from 80 MHz to 6 GHz, burst 5 kV, surge 4 kV plus impulse voltage at 8 kV and 4 kA direct in 1.2/40 us and 10/1000 us, conducted RF 20 V, magnetic fields 1,000 A/m on a 1 m coil, pulsed magnetic fields 1,000 A/m and damped oscillatory magnetic fields 100 A/m, voltage dips on single and three-phase AC and on DC, low-frequency disturbances and voltage fluctuations at 0-270 V over 0-30 kHz at 5 kW on a linear amplifier, EN 61000-4-16 disturbance voltage at 100 V DC to 30 kHz, and damped oscillations at 2.5 kV. Automotive work includes ESD at 30/25 kV, BCI at 100 W and 300 mA from 10 kHz to 400 MHz with a calibration jig, and RF field to 200 V/m in a GTEM cell or 100 V/m and 70 V/m in the absorber chamber at 1 m. The chamber has an 88 x 194 cm door, a 1.5 m turntable rated 300 kg, and a detailed set of filtered feedthroughs - power, LAN, D-Sub and coaxial - carried to the turntable. Pre-compliance and acceptance measurement are both offered, with a large stock of suppression materials (SMD components, ferrites, shielding materials) and two soldering stations available so customers can modify PCBs and verify fixes immediately.

EPA GmbH, founded in 1988 and based at Fliederstrasse 8 in the Niederissigheim district of Bruchkoebel near Hanau in Hesse, is a manufacturer of mains filters and power electronics that operates its own EMC laboratory and offers measurement services to external customers. Its positioning follows directly from the product line: the company helps customers solve conducted and radiated emission problems, which is the exact failure mode its filter products address, so the laboratory functions as much as an engineering resource for suppression work as a measurement facility. Services listed are development support, pre-compliance measurement and on-site EMC measurement at the customer's premises. Test capability covers radiated and conducted emissions, burst and surge pulses and electrostatic discharge, carried out in a 3 m measurement distance absorber hall with a maximum measurable frequency of 1 GHz. Standards coverage is stated as CE (EU) and IEC/EN, with regional coverage limited to the European Union. No ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, notified body status or KBA designation is published, so this is a manufacturer-operated, non-accredited facility: appropriate for development-phase diagnosis, filter selection and interference troubleshooting rather than for issuing accredited conformity reports, and a natural fit for anyone chasing an emissions failure who wants the filter expertise and the chamber in the same place.

I2PS, the Institute for International Product Safety GmbH, is an independent test house in Bonn whose EMC laboratory sits inside an unusually broad electrotechnical testing operation. The EMC facility is built around a fully anechoic room (FAR) compliant with CISPR 16-1 and CISPR 16-2 with a 3 metre measurement distance, covering radiated and conducted emissions, harmonic current and flicker measurement, and a full immunity suite: electrostatic discharge to plus or minus 30 kV, radiated RF fields from 80 MHz to 6 GHz, fast transient bursts to 4 kV, surge to 6.6 kV, conducted RF from 150 kHz to 80 MHz, magnetic field and voltage disturbance testing. The laboratory holds DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and has operated a flexible scope since May 2013, which lets it apply newer editions of a standard without waiting for reassessment; a separate DAkkS calibration accreditation, D-K-19125-01-00, has been in place since 2018. What distinguishes the institute is the surrounding capability: a short-circuit and internal arc facility rated to 300,000 A with 298 MVA peak short-circuit power, driven by one of the world's most powerful surge generator systems, alongside environmental simulation (climatic, vibration and shock), IP ingress protection testing, high-current and lifespan testing, insulation and dielectric testing, materials testing, and non-destructive evaluation by computed tomography and radiography. A switchgear assembly can therefore be taken through EMC, safety, environmental and short-circuit withstand qualification in one place. Specialisations are low-voltage switchgear and controlgear, power distribution and automation systems, rail engineering and shipbuilding electronics, medical and IT equipment, and domestic appliances.

IABG, founded in 1961 at Ottobrunn near Munich as the German aerospace industry's shared analysis and testing organisation, operates one of Europe's most capable electromagnetic test complexes as part of its wider product qualification business. The site runs four EMC laboratories - three anechoic chambers plus one unshielded hall - including a chamber configured for the 10 metre measurement distance and a second sized for large objects such as complete vehicles, satellites and airframe sections. Measurement extends to 40 GHz, and high intensity radiated field testing reaches beyond 2000 V/m, which is what qualifies the facility for civil aviation HIRF campaigns rather than component-level work alone. Its most distinctive asset is the Magnetic Field Simulation Facility (MFSA), described by IABG as unique in Europe: it compensates the Earth's field and generates controlled artificial fields, allowing magnetisation and demagnetisation of test articles, magnetic cleanliness and dipole/multipole characterisation of spacecraft, and magnetometer calibration. The laboratories also house lightning indirect-effects (LEMP) and nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NEMP) simulators alongside conventional emissions, ESD, surge and transient benches. The EMC laboratory is accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, and its test programmes span space standards (ECSS-E-ST-10-07, NASA and ISS requirements), civil aviation (RTCA DO-160, Airbus ABD0100, Boeing D6-16050), military specifications (MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, VG 95373) and platform-specific requirements for Tornado and Eurofighter, plus commercial IEC/EN and automotive standards. Specialisations are spacecraft and satellite qualification, aircraft and avionics HIRF and lightning work, defence platform electronics, and vehicle and rail systems.

IB-Lenhardt AG is a German antenna engineering house and global market-access consultancy whose accredited in-house test laboratory, IBL-Lab GmbH, sits at its St. Ingbert headquarters in Saarland. The group pairs antenna design and integration work - the business it was built on - with a full EMC, radio and wireless test capability, so that a module or finished product can be tuned, pre-tested and then formally certified without leaving the building. The laboratory holds DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 under registration D-PL-21375-01-00, with partial scopes -01 through -04 covering EMC emissions and immunity, radio equipment parameters, SAR and specific product families. It operates as EU Notified Body 2784 under the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU, is a recognised FCC Telecommunication Certification Body and ISED Canada Foreign Certification Body, is designated for Japan (MIC Registered Certification Body) and Hong Kong (OFCA), and is a UK Approved Body for the UK Radio Equipment Regulations SI 2017/1206 - which lets a single submission be turned into CE, UKCA, FCC, ISED, MIC and HKTA grants in parallel. The lab is additionally a KBA Technical Service (category A) for automotive radio and EMC approval to UN-ECE R10, and a WPC-authorised Qi Authorised Test Laboratory for wireless power. Capability spans semi-anechoic and fully anechoic chambers, shielded rooms, SAR measurement positioners with phantom sets, antenna measurement and OTA positioners, conducted emissions and immunity benches with LISNs and CDNs, ESD, EFT/burst and surge generators, and harmonics and flicker analysers. Specialisations are antenna and RF module design, IoT, telematics and automotive connectivity, SAR and human-exposure assessment, RFID and NFC, and turnkey worldwide type approval across more than 190 countries.

The Institut fuer Energieuebertragung und Hochspannungstechnik (IEH) at the University of Stuttgart, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Tenbohlen, offers its research facilities on the Vaihingen campus as contract testing services, and its centre of gravity is high-voltage engineering rather than EMC. The high-voltage hall performs AC withstand testing with simultaneous partial discharge measurement to IEC 60270, lightning and switching impulse voltage testing, capacitance and dissipation factor (tan delta) measurement, relative permittivity and dielectric loss characterisation of liquid and solid insulation, and breakdown and withstand testing - supported by dissolved gas-in-oil analysis with headspace sampling, insulation moisture determination and high-speed optical imaging for tracking particles in insulating fluid, a combination used for transformer condition assessment and fault diagnosis. Alongside that sits a power network group measuring supply quality against EN 50160 and testing controllers and protection devices in real-time hardware-in-the-loop environments. The EMC offering is deliberately scoped as pre-compliance: radiated and conducted emission and immunity measurement to the DIN EN 61000 series and electrostatic discharge resilience testing for CE marking purposes, backed by three-dimensional electromagnetic field simulation, which lets a coupling or emission mechanism be reproduced numerically as well as measured. As a university institute it holds no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and is recorded here without one; work is contracted as research and development service rather than accredited certification. Specialisations are power transformers and insulation diagnostics, grid and power quality measurement, protection and control device testing, and EMC simulation-led investigation.

IMG Electronic & Power Systems GmbH is an electronics development and EMS manufacturing company in Nordhausen, Thuringia, whose in-house EMC laboratory supports the assemblies, power electronics and control systems it designs and builds for customers. The distinguishing feature of the facility is an electromagnetically shielded clean measurement environment that excludes external interferers, so weak emissions from a prototype board can be resolved without the ambient RF floor that defeats open-site measurement - useful for the development-stage diagnostic work that makes up most of the lab's caseload. Measurement capability covers radiated and conducted emissions and the IEC 61000-4 immunity family, including ESD, EFT/burst, surge, conducted and radiated RF immunity, magnetic field and voltage dip testing, applied against the generic EN 61000-6 emission and immunity standards. IMG runs the laboratory as a development service rather than a certification body: engineers use it iteratively during design, locating coupling paths, reworking filter and shielding concepts and re-measuring, so that a product arrives at an accredited lab already compliant. Alongside the test work, IMG conducts applied research into RF-absorbing materials, developing monolayer and multilayer absorber structures for 5G and 6G frequency ranges, and offers EMC-aware layout, filter design and shielding consultancy. Specialisations are power electronics, industrial control and drive electronics, and electronics for energy and renewable-generation applications.

IMST GmbH is an independent research and development house in Kamp-Lintfort, North Rhine-Westphalia, working across radio system design, antennas, radar, RF circuits and electromagnetic simulation, and its Test Centre operates a DAkkS-accredited EMC laboratory under DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 registration D-PL-12139-00-00. The laboratory's principal facility is a semi-anechoic chamber measuring 13 x 8 x 5 metres, usable from DC to 6 GHz, large enough for sizeable equipment and for the 3 m and 10 m measurement geometries required by the emission standards; a second shielded room of 6 x 4 x 3 metres covers DC to 300 MHz for conducted work and low-frequency immunity. Testing covers radiated and conducted emissions to CISPR 32 and EN 55032, the full IEC 61000-4 immunity series, harmonics and flicker, and radio equipment testing to the ETSI EN 301 489 and EN 300 series under the Radio Equipment Directive and the EMC Directive. What sets the centre apart is its proximity to IMST's own design engineering: customers bring hardware into the chamber with a soldering station and stereo microscope available on site so that filter or layout changes can be made and re-measured in the same visit, and the laboratory is backed by IMST's EMPIRE XPU 3D electromagnetic field simulator, which allows radiated emission and coupling problems to be reproduced and diagnosed numerically rather than only empirically. Specialisations are wireless and IoT modules, radar and mmWave sensors, antenna integration, and industrial and automotive electronics.

Ingenieurbuero Wilfried Strassmann GmbH is an engineering consultancy and EMC test provider at Michelstadt-Steinbach in the Odenwald region of Hesse, working at the intersection of electromagnetic compatibility and machinery compliance. Its defining capability is mobile EMC measurement: the firm brings its instrumentation to the customer's premises and tests machines and installations in situ, which is the practical answer for large industrial plant, production lines, machine tools and switchgear installations that cannot be dismantled and shipped to a chamber. Test coverage follows the standard European suite - conducted and radiated emissions, mains harmonic current and flicker measurement, and the IEC 61000-4 immunity family comprising electrostatic discharge, fast transient burst, RF conducted and radiated immunity, surge, and voltage dips and interruptions - evaluated against the generic EN 61000-6 emission and immunity standards and the machinery-sector requirements. Because the practice also handles Machinery Directive conformity assessment, low-voltage compliance, risk assessment, operating instruction authoring and technical file preparation, customers typically use it as a single route from measurement through to a signed Declaration of Conformity and CE mark rather than as a test house alone. The firm publishes no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, positioning itself as an engineering consultancy with measurement capability. Specialisations are industrial machinery and plant, control cabinets and switchgear, and EMC troubleshooting on installed equipment.

The Mooser group runs two DAkkS-accredited EMC laboratories - Jakob Mooser GmbH at Egling-Thanning south of Munich and Mooser EMC Technik GmbH at Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart - and has specialised for more than thirty years in the electromagnetic behaviour of high-voltage automotive drive systems. Its defining asset is the eCHAMBER test bench, of which the group operates four: purpose-built enclosures that let a traction inverter, electric machine, DC/DC converter or complete high-voltage powertrain be run under realistic electrical and mechanical load inside a controlled EMC environment, which is what makes emission measurement on a switching drive at full power meaningful rather than notional. A reverberation chamber complements the absorber facilities for immunity and shielding work. Service lines follow the electrified drivetrain end to end: traction battery and fuel cell stack EMC measurement, power-semiconductor and module-level emission characterisation, high-voltage cable and connector work, AC and DC charging system testing, and shielding effectiveness measurement on housings, cables and enclosures. Both laboratories hold DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and the group is a designated Technical Service of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) for UN-ECE R10 type approval. Alongside measurement, Mooser provides EMC consultancy and interference-suppression design, which is how most customers use it - as a development partner that both finds the emission and specifies the filter or shield that fixes it. Specialisations are electric mobility and high-voltage powertrains, power electronics and semiconductors, and military, railway and industrial equipment.

KRIWAN Testzentrum, founded in 1997 at Forchtenberg in northern Baden-Wuerttemberg as the testing arm of the KRIWAN group, has grown into one of Germany's broader multi-sector compliance houses, combining EMC, environmental simulation, fire detection technology and construction product certification on one site. Its EMC facilities comprise a shielded cabin plus anechoic chambers configured for both the 3 metre and 10 metre measurement distances, with measurement to 6 GHz, radiated immunity fields to 400 V/m and magnetic field generation to 1000 A/m. DAkkS accreditation is held under D-PL-12091-01-00 with partial scopes -01-01 and -01-02 covering electromagnetic compatibility, environmental testing and fire detection technology, and the centre is a designated Technical Service of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority in categories A and D under KBA-P00042, which lets it issue E-mark test reports for UN-ECE R10 Rev. 6 and the agricultural and non-road directives 2009/64/EC, 2005/30/EC and 2009/19/EC. It is additionally a DAkkS-accredited certification body for construction products (D-ZE-12091-01-00) and a DIBt notified body (NB 1772), and holds permission under the German Explosives Act to handle pyrotechnic articles - the reason it can test airbag and restraint components. Accredited standards span automotive (CISPR 25, ISO 7637-2/-3, ISO 11452-2/-4/-5/-8/-9, ISO 10605, ISO 16750-2), agricultural, forestry and construction machinery (ISO 14982, ISO 15003, ISO 13766-1/-2), railway (EN 50155, EN 50121-3-2), fire and alarm systems (EN 50130-4, EN 54-25), marine and offshore (EN 60945 with ABS, BV and DNV type approval routes) and the industrial EN 61000-6 generic series. Specialisations are compressor and motor protection electronics, off-highway and agricultural machinery, fire detection systems, and marine equipment.

Martin Pfeil TRAWID GmbH at Giesen-Hasede near Hildesheim in Lower Saxony is an unusual hybrid: an electronics and precision mechanical engineering contractor that also operates its own EMC test house, so that hardware it designs and builds can be measured, reworked and re-measured without leaving the company. The EMC laboratory performs conducted and radiated emission measurement and immunity testing to the relevant European standards, and is used principally as a development-stage facility - inspections and tests run repeatedly during a build programme rather than a single end-of-project compliance campaign. That model suits the firm's customer base, which centres on aeronautics and space projects alongside general electronics and mechanical engineering work, where assemblies are low-volume, highly specified and iterated over long development cycles, and where a supplier that can machine an enclosure, populate the boards and then measure the resulting emissions is more useful than three separate vendors. Alongside EMC the company runs environmental and load testing on its own products. TRAWID is managed by Dr. Daniel Pfeil and publishes no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, positioning the laboratory as an in-house development and pre-compliance resource made available to external customers rather than as an accredited certification body. Specialisations are aerospace and space electronics assemblies, custom electronics manufacturing, and precision mechanical engineering with integrated EMC verification.

MessTechnikNord (MTN) at Wedel on the western edge of Hamburg traces its laboratory back to 1968, when it was the measurement department of AEG, and has run as an independent, family-managed GmbH since 2000; a second site at Jena was added in 2013. The depth of its accreditation record is unusual: the calibration laboratory has been accredited since 1979, originally under the DKD and now under DAkkS, and the EMC test laboratory since 1993, with ILAC recognition covering both. That combination - an accredited calibration house inside an accredited test house - means measurement traceability is handled in-house rather than shipped out. The Wedel site operates four semi-anechoic absorber chambers plus shielded rooms and environmental simulation facilities, and offers on-site measurement for equipment that cannot be transported. Testing covers conducted and radiated emissions, the full IEC 61000-4 immunity series, harmonics and flicker, automotive component and vehicle EMC, and combined EMC and environmental qualification of complete systems, so a customer can take a device through the whole programme with one provider. MTN is a designated Technical Service (KBA-P00072) for UN-ECE R10 automotive type approval, and employs a staff of more than forty engineers and technicians. Specialisations are automotive and E-mark approval, maritime and industrial electronics, combined EMC and climatic-mechanical qualification, and accredited calibration of EMC measurement instrumentation.

NMi TESTLAB GmbH at Blomberg in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia was founded in 1994 as PHOENIX TESTLAB, growing out of the Phoenix Contact industrial electronics business, and was rebranded after joining the Dutch NMi Group. It is now one of Germany's largest independent test houses: more than 10,000 square metres of laboratory space, some 125 test facilities and over a hundred engineers, with customers including Daimler Truck, Phoenix Contact, Mahle and Stadler Rail. The accreditation structure reflects that scale - DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 under D-PL-17186-01-00 with partial scopes covering EMC, telecommunications, electrical safety and environmental simulation (-01-01), acoustics (-01-02), information security and cyber security (-01-03), EMC for active medical devices and in-vitro diagnostic equipment (-01-04), Canadian ISED telecommunications and EMC standards (-01-05) and FCC requirements (-01-06), plus ISO/IEC 17065 certification body accreditation under D-ZE-17186-01-00 for Canadian telecommunications equipment certification. That means North American market access is issued in-house rather than subcontracted. Test capability is organised around applications as much as standards: airbag and pyrotechnic components, traction and stationary batteries, EV charging stations, wireless and radio modules, and industrial fieldbus interoperability and performance verification sit alongside the conventional EMC, safety, climatic, vibration and UV programmes. Specialisations are automotive and commercial vehicle electronics, industrial automation and fieldbus devices, railway equipment, battery and charging infrastructure, medical devices, and product cyber security.

Nemko GmbH is the German arm of the Norwegian certification group founded in 1933, operating for more than twenty-five years from Pfinztal-Soellingen in the Karlsruhe technology region and serving roughly 20,000 German customers under managing director Jahn Stephansen. The laboratory holds DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 under D-PL-22131-01-01, with a flexible scope that lets it apply revised editions of a test standard without prior notification, and the accredited scope is notably wide: electromagnetic compatibility including basic standards, product family standards and maritime equipment; telecommunications covering ETSI radio and short-range device testing; electrical equipment safety spanning household appliances, luminaires, safety transformers, IT equipment and measurement and control devices; and functional safety of products. EMC facilities comprise a shielded cabin, GTEM and TEM cells for compact emission and immunity work, and a 3 metre anechoic hall. Nemko is a recognised conformity assessment body for the Bundesnetzagentur, a notified body under the medical device rules, and a BAuA-listed GS mark test body; through the wider Nemko network of laboratories across Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East and Africa it routes customers to FCC, ISED and Asian market approvals from the same project. Services extend beyond the chamber to electrical installation inspection, on-site operational safety testing, cyber security assurance and management system certification. Specialisations are international market access, household appliances and lighting, wireless and telecom products, medical devices, industrial machinery, and maritime and offshore equipment.

The Chair of Electromagnetic Compatibility at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Vick, sits within the Institute for Medical Technology in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Building 09 on Universitaetsplatz. It is a university research group rather than a commercial accredited test house, and makes its facilities available to industry explicitly so companies can test and investigate new products without buying expensive equipment themselves - with the emphasis not on raw measurement data but on analysis and interpretation by experienced EMC engineers against the valid standards. Research centres on four themes: EMC analysis and modelling of complex systems, covering coupling of electromagnetic fields into systems and cable structures, in-system coupling and coupling into components; EMC measurement, including the application of reverberation chambers, stochastic modelling of devices and the requirements on measurements above 1 GHz; the development of new EMC standards, covering in-situ measurement of large objects, device monitoring during EMC measurements and stochastic modelling and testing of complex systems; and modelling of power-quality phenomena, specifically the voltage-dependent behaviour of non-linear equipment and the interaction of harmonic sources. The laboratory estate is unusually broad for an academic group and includes a semi-anechoic chamber, a mode-stirred reverberation chamber, a GTEM cell, separate laboratories for conducted emissions and conducted immunity, a laboratory for cables, transmission lines and network analysis, a laboratory for numerical field calculation, a laboratory for high-power electromagnetics (HPEM) and a laboratory for power quality. The HPEM and stochastic-reverberation capabilities are the distinguishing features - these are research tools for intentional electromagnetic interference and statistical EMC assessment rather than routine conformity work. Industry engagement runs through testing and consulting contracts, joint research projects, formal cooperations and the annual Magdeburg EMC workshop and EMC Industry Seminars.

Obering. Berg & Lukowiak GmbH, trading as OBL, is a private and independent testing and certification institute at Huellhorst in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia, and a notified body under the EMC Directive. It holds DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 under D-PL-12032-01-00 with a Flex A flexible scope, which allows it to apply different editions of a test procedure without prior notification, across five accredited fields: electromagnetic compatibility, telecommunications, electrical equipment safety, environmental simulation and energy efficiency. The accredited EMC scope is broad in the product dimension rather than the military one - basic immunity and emission standards, the EN 61000-6 generic series for residential, commercial and industrial environments, and product-family standards for railway equipment, alarm and security systems, luminaires, household appliances and IT equipment, plus radio equipment EMC under RED Article 3.1(b) and automotive applications. Telecommunications accreditation covers broadcast and digital terrestrial television receivers to ETSI EN 303 345-1 and EN 303 340. What makes OBL distinctive is how far its testing extends past compliance into product quality assessment: the institute also evaluates ergonomics and usability, acoustic noise and audio performance, video and photographic image quality, energy efficiency, cyber security, and RoHS and chemical composition, and carries out factory inspections and production monitoring. Specialisations are consumer electronics and multimedia, household appliances, lighting, IT equipment and consumer goods for retail and own-brand programmes.

PRO EMV Labor Strausberg, established in 1992 at Strausberg east of Berlin, is one of the longer-standing independent EMC laboratories in Brandenburg, built around an absorber hall configured for the 3 metre measurement distance plus shielded facilities for conducted work and radio measurements. It holds DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 with a flexible scope for electromagnetic compatibility and a separate DAkkS accreditation covering medical devices, and is a designated Technical Service of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) in category A, so automotive E-mark reports are issued in-house. The accredited product scope is unusually wide for a laboratory of this size and reads as a list of product-family standards rather than a sector focus: measurement, control and regulation equipment, laboratory instrumentation, information technology and computing hardware, medical devices, household appliances, power tools, automotive electrical and electronic systems, arc welding equipment, alarm and security systems, lifts and escalators, and electronic equipment for rail vehicles. Beyond product compliance the laboratory performs workplace and environmental field-strength measurement under the German 26th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (26. BImSchV) and DGUV Regulation 15, which covers human exposure assessment at transmitter sites and industrial installations - a capability most product EMC houses do not offer. For equipment too large to bring into the chambers, measurements are made on site by arrangement, and the laboratory works with customers during development through consultative overview measurements before formal testing begins. Specialisations are medical device EMC, rail and lift electronics, and immission protection measurement.

RS Schwarze Industrieelektronik at Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia is an industrial electronics company that runs a DAkkS-accredited EMC laboratory to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, under laboratory director Bruno Erdbories. Its principal facility is a Full Anechoic Room measuring 8.2 by 5.2 by 4.2 metres, lined throughout with ferrite absorbers and partially fitted with hybrid pyramidal absorbers, giving a 360-degree absorbing environment with video monitoring of the test item; radiated disturbance field strength is measured from 30 MHz to 6 GHz and radiated immunity generated from 80 MHz to 6 GHz. The chamber is complemented by an open-area free-field measurement site and a shielded test cabin, which together cover conducted disturbance measurement from 9 kHz to 30 MHz and the low-frequency work. The immunity suite is complete to the IEC 61000-4 series: electrostatic discharge, radiated and conducted RF fields, fast transient burst, surge, power frequency magnetic fields, voltage variations and harmonics, with mains harmonic current and flicker measurement on the emission side. Because the company's own business is designing and building industrial electronics, the laboratory is used as much for remediation as for certification: engineers advise on and implement corrective measures - filtering, shielding, grounding and layout changes - when a test fails, rather than simply issuing the report. Specialisations are industrial control and drive electronics, machine and plant electronics, and EMC troubleshooting with in-house redesign capability.

SF Automationselektronik, founded in Dresden in 2009 and a member of the Silicon Saxony high-tech cluster, is a contract electronics development house that operates its own EMC laboratory as part of its design service rather than as a standalone test business. The company covers the full development chain - requirement definition, circuit design, PCB layout, hardware-oriented firmware, prototype build and transfer into manufacturing - and has delivered more than 1,500 customer projects since founding. The in-house EMC laboratory is used throughout that chain: emission and immunity measurements are run on prototypes during layout iteration so that filtering, shielding and grounding decisions are made on measured evidence, and the resulting documentation feeds the customer's CE declaration under the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU. Because the same engineers who designed the board also run the measurements, the laboratory functions primarily as a diagnostic and pre-compliance resource, with accredited verification arranged externally when a formal report is required. The company operates a certified ISO 9001 quality management system but publishes no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for the laboratory, so it is listed here as a non-accredited development facility. Specialisations are custom industrial and automation electronics, embedded hardware with EMC-aware layout design, and design-stage EMC qualification for small and mid-sized manufacturers taking a new product to CE marking.

SGS
The SGS Germany EMC laboratory at Puchheim west of Munich is one of the largest commercial EMC test estates in southern Germany, operating five semi-anechoic chambers and three shielded EMC chambers. The flagship facility is a 10 metre chamber able to take vehicles up to 12 metres long and 35 tonnes, which puts complete trucks, buses, agricultural tractors and construction machinery inside a full-size absorber hall rather than restricting the site to component work. Emission measurement reaches 40 GHz and radiated immunity fields reach 600 V/m; the power benches handle three-phase harmonics and flicker up to 75 A, surge to 10 kV and 10 kA, ESD to 30 kV, and high-voltage work including ISO/DTS 7637-4 plus surge and burst on DC rails to 1,000 V and 100 A - the combination needed for traction inverters and electric-vehicle powertrains. The regulatory designations are correspondingly broad: DAkkS accreditation to EN ISO/IEC 17025 including ZLG scope for medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics, KBA Technical Service designation for ECE homologation, recognition by the Bundesnetzagentur as a conformity assessment body for US FCC requirements, IECEE CBTL status for CB certification, VCCI registration for Japan and a Korean laboratory listing - so one campaign can be converted into European, North American and East Asian market access. Accredited standards run from the EN 55011 to EN 55035 emission and immunity families and the IEC 61000-4 and 61000-6 series through EN 60601-1-2, ISO 11451 and ISO 11452, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461, FCC Part 15, ETSI EN 301 489 and ITU-T K.20 to K.54, to the vehicle manufacturer specifications of BMW, Volkswagen and Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Hyundai, Volvo, Scania, Nissan and Fiat Chrysler. Specialisations are automotive and e-mobility, construction and agricultural machinery, medical devices and IVD, rail systems, and marine equipment.

STC Germany, operating since 1978 at Frontenhausen in Lower Bavaria, is the German laboratory of the international STC Group and combines more than forty years of test experience with the designations needed to turn a single campaign into worldwide market access. It is a DAkkS-accredited and ILAC-recognised test laboratory to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, an EU Notified Body for radio equipment under the Radio Equipment Directive, a recognised conformity assessment body for the Bundesnetzagentur, a designated Technical Service of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority for vehicle approval, and performs FCC and ISED Canada testing for North American access - with sister laboratories in Asia and North America handling the remaining regions. The facility pairs a shielded cabin with an absorber hall configured for the 3 metre measurement distance and an open free-field measurement site; emission measurement reaches 40 GHz, with radiated immunity fields to 35 V/m and magnetic field generation to 100 A/m. Its service mix is broader than EMC alone: radio equipment parameter testing, electromagnetic field and human exposure assessment, electrical safety, toy safety to the EN 71 family and energy-related product (ErP) efficiency verification sit alongside the emission and immunity work, and the laboratory supports manufacturers and importers through market launch and ongoing series production monitoring rather than one-off certification. With fewer than fifty staff in the DACH region it operates as a focused specialist rather than a volume house. Specialisations are radio and wireless market access, automotive E-mark approval, consumer electronics and toys, and energy-related products.

STOCKMANN Pruef- und Qualitaetszentrum, founded in 1992 as a spin-off from a larger industrial concern and still independent and owner-managed, operates from Leubingen in the Soemmerda district of Thuringia as a multi-discipline quality centre rather than a pure EMC house. Its EMC laboratory reaches unusually high in frequency for a facility of this scale: radiated emission measurement extends to 26 GHz, and radiated immunity is generated up to 6 GHz, alongside conducted emission and immunity measurement, electrostatic discharge, fast transient burst, surge, magnetic field immunity, voltage dips and interruptions, and mains harmonic current and flicker analysis. The laboratory is explicitly positioned as a problem-solving facility - the company advertises consultancy on interference suppression and immunity improvement, and carries out troubleshooting measures in the laboratory rather than simply reporting a fail - and offers on-site measurement for equipment, systems and fixed installations that cannot be brought in. Climatic chambers providing combined temperature and humidity profiles support environmental qualification alongside the EMC work, and the wider business adds calibration services, dimensional and length metrology and mechanical manufacturing, so a customer can have a fixture built, calibrated and then used in test at one address. No ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation certificate is published on the company's site, so it is recorded here without an accreditation entry. Specialisations are industrial and commercial electrical equipment, installations and systems, EMC troubleshooting and suppression design, and combined EMC and climatic qualification.

Siemens operates two DAkkS-accredited test centres under its Digital Enterprise Services banner, both accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and both open to external customers as well as internal product lines. The EMC-Center at Erlangen is organized into a Laboratory division and an Engineering division, the latter unusual in that it takes on field measurement, energy system simulation and on-site troubleshooting at customer installations rather than confining itself to chamber work. Its semi-anechoic chamber covers 150 kHz to 6 GHz for emission measurement with shielded cabins for immunity testing, and test programmes are run against IEC and EN standards, FCC requirements, the Korean KS C series, marine specifications and MIL-STD - a mix that reflects where Siemens equipment is sold. A particular strength is railway work: EMC and electromagnetic field measurement on rolling stock and on trackside and electrification infrastructure, including human exposure assessment. The Type Test Center at Karlsruhe complements this with environmental and mechanical qualification - climatic chambers of 600 to 1,500 litres covering minus 70 to plus 180 degrees Celsius and 10 to 98 per cent relative humidity, vibration to 100 g, shock, noise and drop testing - and carries a dense set of certification approvals: UL, FM, the IECEE CB Scheme, ATEX, IECEx, UKEX, CCC-Ex and marine type approvals, so explosion-protected and harsh-environment equipment can be qualified and certified in one place. Both centres offer test planning, approval consulting and EMC seminars. Specialisations are industrial and process automation equipment, railway vehicles and infrastructure, energy and switchgear systems, and explosion-protected apparatus.

TREO - Labor fuer Umweltsimulation runs two complementary German sites: the EMC laboratory at Neumuenster in Schleswig-Holstein and the environmental simulation, mechanical and materials testing facility in the HIT Technopark at Hamburg-Harburg. Both hold DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 under master registration D-PL-11203-01-00, with partial scope -01-01 covering environmental simulation, EMC, electrical safety and materials testing across both locations, and a separate partial scope -01-02 specifically for EMC testing to FCC requirements for the United States market. EMC coverage runs from conducted and radiated emission and susceptibility measurement through electrostatic discharge and electromagnetic field survey to compass safe distance determination - the marine measurement that establishes how close equipment may be mounted to a vessel's magnetic compass, a capability tied to the laboratory's shipbuilding customers. The defence and aerospace programme is run to MIL-STD-461 for EMC and MIL-STD-810 for environmental qualification. Around those sit the Hamburg capabilities: climatic and thermal shock testing, vibration, mechanical shock, static acceleration, pressure, IP and IK protection ratings, acoustics and inclination testing, materials work covering chemical resistance, fire behaviour, corrosion and weathering, and electrical safety including insulation resistance, high-voltage, protective conductor and leakage current measurement with recently added EN 62368-1 scope. The laboratory markets a development-accompanying programme under the name SPRINT, building test campaigns that run from specification through to approval rather than only at the end. Specialisations are aviation and aerospace, shipbuilding and defence, rail, e-bikes and pedelecs, automotive and renewable energy.

TUV NORD Hochfrequenztechnik operates the group's radio and EMC laboratory in the LESKANPARK complex at Cologne-Kalk, and its headline specification is reach in frequency: the absorber hall covers measurement up to 325 GHz, which is what allows automotive radar in both the 24 GHz and 76 to 77 GHz bands to be characterised rather than only the sub-6 GHz radio bands most laboratories stop at. The hall measures 8.55 by 5.55 by 5.325 metres with a usable test volume of 2 metres diameter by 2 metres high, a 1.20 by 2.30 metre door and 1,000 kg load capacity including the turntable; EMC immunity is generated from 80 MHz to 6 GHz up to 10 V/m. Around it sit dedicated unshielded areas - roughly 23 square metres for device safety, 30 square metres for radio testing under extreme climatic conditions, 20 square metres for EMC and some 400 square metres for preliminary and comparative measurement, which is a large pre-compliance footprint by any standard. The laboratory is DAkkS accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, recognised as a conformity assessment body for the FCC and for ISED Canada, and recognised by the Bundesnetzagentur, and it coordinates type approval and homologation into more than 190 markets. Radio capability spans short-range devices, Bluetooth, wireless LAN, RFID, smart metering and wireless charging as well as radar; EMC covers emissions, immunity, electrostatic discharge to 30 kV air and 25 kV contact discharge, surge and burst and power quality analysis; electrical safety is run to EN 62368-1 with protective conductor, leakage and touch current, high-voltage and temperature testing. Specialisations are automotive radar and mmWave, wireless and IoT market access, RFID and wireless power, and smart metering.

ZAMM, the Zentrum fuer angewandte Messtechnik Memmingen, is an independent EMC laboratory in the Allgaeu region of Bavaria, run by managing director and laboratory head Robert Mayr with Joerg Melcher as deputy. It holds two DAkkS accreditations to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 with ILAC and EA recognition: D-PL-18568-01-01 for the general EMC test suite and a separate scope D-PL-18568-01-02 covering active medical devices and in-vitro diagnostic equipment, which is the harder accreditation to obtain and the one that defines much of the laboratory's caseload. The facility is built around a 10 metre anechoic chamber complemented by a 10 metre open-area test site and a shielded cabinet, with dedicated electrostatic discharge and three-phase measurement stations for harmonic current and voltage disturbance work; emission measurement covers DC to 18 GHz and the range is extensible. Automotive component testing sits alongside the industrial and medical work, and measurements can be made on site for equipment that cannot be transported. ZAMM positions itself explicitly as a consultative laboratory - alongside accredited reporting it offers test plan development, product optimisation measurement and non-accredited testing run to a manufacturer's own specification, which suits customers iterating a design rather than closing out a certification. The customer base spans industrial electronics, medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics, automotive, machinery, environmental measurement technology, appliances, construction equipment, rail and transportation, security systems and veterinary medicine. Specialisations are medical device and IVD EMC, industrial electronics, and development-stage optimisation measurement.

cetecom advanced operates EMC laboratories at Essen-Kettwig and Saarbruecken, both accredited by DAkkS to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, with a sister laboratory in the United States carrying A2LA accreditation - so European and North American testing is performed inside the same organisation. Its automotive designations are unusually layered: it is a designated KBA Technical Service operating under the German E1 approval mark for UN-R 10 amendments 05 and 06, an accredited technical service to the Luxembourg authority SNCH under the E13 mark, and a technical service to Ireland's NSAI for eCall and EMC under the relevant EU regulations and UN regulations - meaning a manufacturer can choose which approval authority issues the certificate without changing laboratory. Test programmes run to the Radio Equipment Directive, the EMC Directive, the Machinery Directive and the medical device rules including IEC 60601-1-2 fourth edition, with railway work to EN 50121 and EN 50155 and shielding attenuation measurement to IEEE 299. Market coverage extends to CE, FCC for the United States, ISED for Canada and MIC for Japan. The laboratories are set up for iterative work rather than pass-fail reporting: customers may attend their own tests, an on-site workshop allows device modifications - filters, shielding materials and specialised connectors - to be fitted and retested within the same session, and the company supports development-phase measurement, modification testing and mass-production quality assurance, with on-site measurement available for plant and machinery. Specialisations are automotive EMC and eCall approval, wireless and multi-radio products, medical technology, railway equipment, and machinery and plant engineering.

dresden elektronik ingenieurtechnik is a Dresden-based engineering and manufacturing services provider - an E2MS house covering development, production, test system construction and obsolescence management - whose in-house test laboratory performs type testing (Typpruefung) on its own and customers' electronics. The laboratory structures its EMC work into the four classical quadrants and publishes them that way: conducted emissions (EMIC) covering radio disturbance voltage, disturbance current, harmonic currents, voltage fluctuations and flicker; conducted immunity (EMSC) covering electrostatic discharge, conducted RF current, fast transients, surge voltages and voltage dips; radiated emissions (EMIR) covering disturbance field strength together with near-field probe investigation; and radiated immunity (EMSR) covering electrostatic discharge, radiated RF fields and both power-frequency and pulsed magnetic fields. The inclusion of pulsed magnetic field immunity and systematic near-field probing is notable - the first is a standard most general-purpose laboratories omit, and the second reflects a diagnostic rather than pass-fail orientation, consistent with a facility whose main customer is the company's own design department. Device safety testing and environmental testing run alongside EMC, with quality management and obsolescence management offered as engineering services. The company publishes no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for the laboratory, so it is recorded here without one. Specialisations are wireless and Zigbee module electronics, industrial and lighting control systems, contract electronics development, and development-stage EMC type testing.

emfeld GmbH, founded in March 2019 at Vaihingen an der Enz between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe and led by managing director Florian Dietze, was incorporated specifically for the analysis and evaluation of electromagnetic fields - its registered business purpose is the metrological detection of low- and high-frequency non-ionising radiation - and it has built an EMC test estate around that core in a remarkably short time. The facility runs absorber halls configured for both the 3 metre and 10 metre measurement distances plus a hall sized for large objects, an open-area test site, GTEM and TEM cells for compact emission and immunity work, and shielded cabins. Capability figures are strong for a laboratory of this age and size: measurement to 40 GHz, radiated immunity field generation to 600 V/m and magnetic field generation to 300 A/m - the 600 V/m figure putting automotive and aerospace high-field immunity work within reach rather than only the 10 and 20 V/m levels of the generic standards. Accreditation and designation cover DAkkS to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for electromagnetic compatibility and separately under the medical device rules, designation as a Technical Service of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) for vehicle approval, and recognition as a conformity assessment body by the Bundesnetzagentur. With fewer than fifty staff it operates as a specialist rather than a volume house. Specialisations are electromagnetic field and human exposure assessment, high-field immunity testing, automotive component approval, and medical device EMC.

hummel electronic, founded in 1975 and based at Fellbach-Schmiden on the north-eastern edge of Stuttgart, is a long-established EMC engineering practice that pairs a compact but comprehensively equipped measurement laboratory with design consultancy. Spectral analysis extends to 40 GHz, which is unusual for a laboratory of this scale and reflects a customer base that includes military and high-frequency work rather than only mains-powered consumer products. The service model is design-led: as well as qualifying a finished device, the firm works on EMC-compliant equipment design from the outset, develops shielding concepts, and designs filters and suppression circuits - so the measurement and the remedy come from the same engineers. An unusual additional line is the construction and verification of screened rooms, including facilities built for protection against unwanted signal emanation, work that sits closer to shielding engineering than to product compliance. Around the EMC work the laboratory runs environmental, climatic, vibration and shock testing with failure analysis, performs measurements on site at customer premises, and handles ecodesign and energy-related product verification alongside CE marking support. The company publishes no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation certificate, so it is recorded here without an accreditation entry; customers use it principally as a development, diagnosis and pre-compliance resource. Specialisations are EMC-aware product design and shielding engineering, filter and suppression design, screened room construction and verification, and combined EMC and environmental qualification.

Automotive, industrial, and CE programs
Vehicle-module suppliers need CISPR 25, bulk current injection, and the OEM procedure named on the drawing. Industrial drives and factory electronics add IEC 61000-4 and harmonics. Consumer and radio products still need EN 55032 and often RED. Ask whether one setup can collect extra limit lines for FCC or UKCA if the same hardware ships outside the EU.
Which German region to book
Use Stuttgart or Karlsruhe when the plant is in Baden-Württemberg. Use Munich or Erlangen for Bavaria, and the North Rhine-Westphalia page when the lab is in Cologne, the Ruhr, or East Westphalia. Hamburg, Dresden, and Saarbrücken have their own city pages. Confirm the suburb on the report—many chambers are not in the city the search term suggests.
