CE-LAB GmbH operates a test centre at Am Hammergrund 1 in Ilmenau, Thuringia, focused on EMC testing alongside electrical safety, energy and high-voltage technology, lightning and surge protection, climatic testing and environmental simulation, calibration, CE marking and international product approval, plus consulting and training. For development-accompanying activities or novel applications, specially adapted test procedures can be developed, trialled and introduced jointly with the client. The surrounding capability is what makes the site distinctive: dielectric strength testing and high-current assessment on electrical installations, AC and DC high-voltage test systems in its own laboratory, lightning current and impulse voltage testing to various standards and application areas, and long-term climatic and environmental simulation. CE-LAB also runs working groups on EMC and lightning protection and participates in the ELMUG device-safety specialist group. The company operates on a flexible commercial model - customers can bring their own test plan, work on a time-and-materials basis, or book a fixed block of hours - under the principle of no test without a test plan.
