CPDMED TBI is the MedTech and Geriatric Healthcare Technology Business Incubator attached to the Department of Design and Manufacturing at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, housed in the Raman Building on the IISc campus. Its EMI/EMC facility exists to serve a specific gap: Indian medical device start-ups and small manufacturers that need to know whether a prototype will pass before committing to an accredited campaign. The approach is unusually transparent - the incubator publishes a fixed per-test price list, with radiated emission measurement to IEC 61000-6-3 at five thousand rupees and conducted emission, electrostatic discharge to IEC 61000-4-2, surge to IEC 61000-4-5, electrical fast transient to IEC 61000-4-4 and voltage dip and short interruption to IEC 61000-4-11 at three thousand rupees each, which makes iterative development testing affordable in a way commercial day rates do not. Instrumentation is correspondingly focused rather than comprehensive: line impedance stabilisation networks, a spectrum analyser and transient suppression devices, sufficient for diagnostic and pre-compliance work but not for accredited certification. As a university incubator facility it holds no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and is recorded here without one; its value is access to IISc's design and manufacturing expertise alongside the measurement. The wider centre focuses on developing affordable healthcare technology. Specialisations are medical device pre-compliance measurement for start-ups, affordable healthcare technology development, and design-stage EMC diagnosis.
