About
EMC Test NRW GmbH at Emil-Figge-Strasse 76 in Dortmund is an independent EMC laboratory with more than 25 years of experience, operating on a two-shift model for flexible turnaround. Its distinguishing asset is chamber AH1, a semi-anechoic chamber that accepts objects weighing up to 50 tonnes and up to 8 m in diameter, and vehicles up to 18 m long, tested under free-field conditions - the laboratory notes it has tested almost everything with wheels or that can be transported, from electric vehicles to railway wagons. AH2 handles objects to 2 tonnes and 2 m diameter, AH3 objects to 1.5 tonnes and 2 m for small industrial applications and electronic sub-assemblies needing particularly high immunity. Alongside these sit shielded rooms, a reverberation chamber, a 180 kW DC emulator, a dedicated measuring station for harmonic current emissions and voltage changes, and electrical testing facilities. Its approval portfolio is exceptionally deep on the regulatory side: DAkkS accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 under D-PL-12012-01-01 and -01-02 with a published flexible scope, a separate partial accreditation D-PL-12012-01-03 for EMC of active medical devices and IVD devices, KBA Technical Service designation KBA-P 00060-97 in categories A, B and D, Notified Body for EMC under BNetzA-bS-07/61-03/3, Notified Body for the Radio Equipment Directive under BNetzA-bS-25/51-65, and Technical Service recognition RDWT-CLD-03 from the Dutch RDW. In January 2024 Ford Motor Company granted EMC Test NRW the FMC 1280 High Voltage approval, making it the first and at the time only laboratory in the EU with that approval - a notable credential for electric-vehicle HV component work. Other OEM recognitions include Ford FMC1278, VW TL81000, Daimler MBN 10284-2, BMW GS 95002-2, Renault 36-00-808/--N and Nissan equivalents, PSA B21 7110 E, and Volvo Cars REQ043878/2 and further PRDs; the laboratory states that all German OEMs plus Ford, Volvo, GM, PSA, JLR and Renault accept its reports. Human EMF exposure assessment, development support, engineering, consulting, R&D and a training programme of seminars and free webinars round out the offer.
