About

Estech was founded in 1993 and works from the World Meridian 2nd building on Gasan Digital 2-ro in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul - the Gasan digital industrial complex that concentrates much of the capital's electronics sector - under chief executive Il Wha Chung. It describes itself as conducting testing and certification across EMC, radio frequency, specific absorption rate, safety certification and lighting tests for both domestic and overseas markets, and operates from multiple locations. The published EMC test list is the full directive set as Korea implements it: conducted and radiated disturbance, magnetic field emission, discontinuous disturbance - the click test that matters for switching appliances - and the immunity suite of electrostatic discharge, radiated and conducted radio-frequency field, surge and electrical fast transient burst. Two scope items are worth singling out. The first is KN 41 testing for automotive aftermarket electronics, referencing EN 50498, which covers the retrofit accessories fitted to vehicles after sale and is a distinct regulatory category from original-equipment automotive EMC. The second is electromagnetic field strength measurement from 10 Hz to 400 kHz for products such as electric blankets and induction ranges - a human exposure measurement in a frequency band well below the usual EMC floor, and one of the few laboratories in this directory to publish it. Market access reaches KC and KOLAS in Korea, CE for Europe, FCC for the United States, ISED for Canada, VCCI for Japan, RCM for Australia, Vietnam and the IECEE CB Scheme.
