About
HCT is one of South Korea's largest independent testing and certification houses, working from Seoicheon-ro in Majang-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, under co-chief executives Huh Bong-Jae and Kwon Yong-taek. Its breadth is the point: eleven declared testing areas covering radio frequency, wired, EMC, specific absorption rate and over-the-air performance, electrical safety, medical, battery, environmental reliability, software, nuclear, automotive electronics and defence. Few laboratories anywhere combine automotive, nuclear, battery and defence under one roof. Its automotive client list is named and substantial - Hyundai, Kia, Renault, Stellantis, KGM, Volkswagen, Tesla and Volvo - covering high-voltage and low-voltage components as well as electronics. The defence scope runs to MIL-STD-461D, MIL-STD-167-1 for mechanical vibration, RTCA DO-160G, MIL-PRF-28800F for test equipment and MIL-STD-1275E for vehicle power, served by large and extra-large walk-in chambers. Nuclear work is to US Regulatory Guide 1.180, the NRC guidance on EMC qualification of safety-related instrumentation - a scope almost unique in this directory. Battery testing covers UN 38.3, IEC 62619 and UN-ECE R100, with penetration, overcharge and thermal runaway tests, and cybersecurity and functional safety assessment sit alongside. It holds KOLAS-accredited calibration to ISO/IEC 17025 and supports KC, CE, FCC, UL, CB and Japanese certification, listing market access across more than two hundred countries including VCCI, PSE, MIC, CCC, SRRC, NOM, IFETEL, UKCA, EAC, ANATEL, SDPPI, NCC, ICASA, RCM and CSA. Its United States subsidiary HCT America in Milpitas, California is separately recognised by RRA under the APEC arrangement for testing to Korean radio and EMC standards. Specialisations are automotive electronics for global OEMs, nuclear instrumentation EMC, defence and aerospace, battery safety, and global market access.
