IMV Corporation - e-TCJ Iruma Test Centre
About
IMV Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of vibration and environmental test systems, with subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and Michigan, and it runs its own contract test house - e-TCJ, the e-Test Centre Japan - at Miyadera in Iruma, Saitama Prefecture, north-west of Tokyo. The laboratory operates a quality system to ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by the Japan Accreditation Board. Its EMC capability was transformed by a dedicated EMC building that opened in June 2025 specifically to serve aerospace and defence customers: 396 square metres across three floors, containing two MIL-STD-461 compliant anechoic chambers fed by a high-capacity power supply, a reverberation chamber, and a large G-TEM cell test room, with emission and immunity measurement to 40 GHz. The standards it addresses there are unusually demanding - MIL-STD-461G including legacy editions, NDS, the Japanese Ministry of Defense Standard, RTCA DO-160 including the Section 22 lightning-induced transient susceptibility tests, and SSP 30237 and SSP 30238, the International Space Station EMC requirements, which almost no commercial laboratory holds - alongside ISO 11452, the IEC 61000 series and SAE J551 and J1113 for automotive and industrial work. Older EMC facilities on the site include a radio anechoic chamber, a semi-anechoic chamber and a shield room. Because IMV builds the equipment, the surrounding mechanical and environmental estate is exceptional for a site of this size: vibration systems, combined vibration and temperature chambers, an ultra-high temperature chamber, shock, thermal shock and temperature cycling, cyclic corrosion test systems, head expanders and cubic fixtures, plus connector evaluation testing and a separate acoustic semi-anechoic chamber with NC20 background noise for squeak-and-rattle and sound power measurement to JIS Z 0200 and Z 0202. Industries served span automotive parts, aerospace, electronic parts, transportation, railway, seismic qualification and batteries. Specialisations are military and space EMC, G-TEM and reverberation chamber testing to 40 GHz, and combined EMC with vibration and environmental qualification.
