ITC Services operates from Nieshout Street in Kameeldrift East, north-east of Pretoria in Gauteng, and has been registered since 1988. It occupies an unusual dual position: an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited EMC and EMI test laboratory that also manufactures the shielded enclosures other people test in - modular shielded chambers, filters and, notably, MRI chambers built for Siemens, GE and Tecmed. Building magnetic resonance imaging rooms is a demanding shielding discipline in its own right, since the enclosure must contain the scanner's own fields while excluding external RF, and it means the company's measurement work and its construction work inform each other. The test scope spans commercial and military ground in roughly equal measure. On the commercial side it covers CE Mark testing against basic and product standards - CISPR 11, 14 and 15, IEC 61326-1 for measurement and laboratory equipment, and the IEC 61000-4-2 through -4-11 immunity set including -4-9 pulse magnetic field - along with radio equipment to ETSI EN 301 489-1, EN 300 220-1, EN 300 328, EN 301 511 and EN 301 908, and ICASA approval, which is the mandatory South African route for radio and telecommunications equipment and the reason a local laboratory matters for that market. On the military side it works to MIL-STD-461 revisions C, D, E and F, RTCA/DO-160 revisions C, D and E for airborne equipment, the British DEF STAN 59-41, and EN 2282 for aerospace. It also offers EMC consultation and publishes its pricing, which is rare. Industries served are industrial, laboratory equipment, medical and telecommunications, with medical imaging as a distinct line.
