JET, the Japan Electrical Safety and Environment Technology Laboratories, is a Japanese public-interest foundation headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, and performs its EMC work at two sites - the Yokohama EMC Test Center at Motomiya in Tsurumi-ku, and a Kansai EMC Test Center. The Yokohama chamber specifications are published in full, which is rare and makes capacity easy to assess. Its 10-metre anechoic chamber measures 17.0 by 11.0 by 7.6 metres, supports both 3-metre and 10-metre measurement distances, and carries a 3-metre turntable rated to 3,000 kilograms with 10 kVA single-phase three-wire or 12 kVA single or three-phase supply - a three-tonne turntable puts large industrial plant, power conditioners and EV chargers within reach. Its 3-metre chamber is 8.1 by 5.1 by 5.25 metres with a 2-metre, 500-kilogram turntable at 4.0 kVA, a dedicated immunity chamber is 7.0 by 3.0 by 3.0 metres with a 1.2-metre, 250-kilogram turntable at 10 kVA, and three shielded rooms measure 8.0 by 4.0 by 4.1, 10.0 by 5.0 by 3.1 and 5.8 by 4.6 by 2.7 metres. The Kansai site adds a 3-metre chamber of 9.01 by 6.0 by 5.2 metres with a 2-metre, 500-kilogram turntable at 4.5 kVA and a 10.0 by 5.0 by 2.7 metre shielded room at 12 kVA. Yokohama has been VLAC-accredited since 1 December 2009 and an IECEE CB Testing Laboratory since 2006; Kansai since 1 December 2015 and 2018 respectively. JET is also a mandatory third-party conformity assessment body for the PSE mark, PSC, the JIS Mark and Radio Act technical regulations conformity certification, certifies controlled medical devices, and runs the S-JET, CMJ component registration, JET PVm, JET PV O&M, JET Robot, NRTL and ECHONET Lite schemes. Measurement covers emissions including disturbance power and large and small loop antenna magnetic field strength, and immunity including proximity magnetic field. Specialisations are large and heavy equipment EMC, solar power conditioners and storage systems including mega-solar, EV fast chargers, and combined PSE conformity assessment with EMC measurement.
