About

Telefication B.V. has been accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council as a notified body since 1990, making it one of the longest-standing radio and EMC conformity assessment bodies in Europe, and in 2020 it moved from Zevenaar into a purpose-built EMC and wireless laboratory on Wilmersdorf in Apeldoorn, Gelderland. Its parent is Kiwa Nederland B.V., and all certification services transferred to Kiwa in January 2023, so the operation now trades as Kiwa Telefication. The designation set is substantial: EU Notified Body number 0063 for the Radio Equipment Directive, FCC designation NL0001, accreditation to both ISO/IEC 17025 for testing and ISO/IEC 17065 for certification, recognition by ISED Canada and by Japan's MIC through the TELEC route, status as an Australian and New Zealand ACMA Conformity Assessment Body, VCCI registration, and UKCA capability - which means a radio product can be taken to Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Japan and Australasia from one engagement. The Apeldoorn facility holds twelve ETS-Lindgren chambers, and the mix is deliberately varied: a 5-metre semi-anechoic chamber designated FACT 5, a 3-metre fully anechoic room, three further anechoic rooms and five shielded rooms. A fully anechoic room differs from a semi-anechoic chamber in having absorber on the floor as well, which removes the ground-plane reflection and suits radio and antenna work rather than CISPR emissions measurement, so holding both configurations lets the laboratory cover regulatory emissions and radio performance properly. A dedicated debugging area supports product modification before a test campaign completes. Standards include FCC Parts 15, 18, 22, 24 and 27, the Radio Equipment Directive, the EMC Directive, ISED RSS, Japanese MIC requirements, the CISPR families and EN 55032, with UN-ECE Regulation 10 testing, low voltage directive safety and IP ingress protection alongside. Certification scopes extend beyond radio into PPE, the Marine Equipment Directive and the European Cableway Regulation. Industries served are consumer electronics, IoT and smart devices, wireless and radio equipment, industrial equipment, maritime equipment and electrical equipment. Specialisations are radio equipment certification across six markets, fully anechoic room antenna and radio work, maritime equipment approval, and notified body certification alongside testing.
