About
Labotech International operates from Fukatsu-cho in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, between Osaka and Kobe, and comes out of a parent company that has developed marine electronics for more than seventy years - which shapes everything about the laboratory. It is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by the Japan Accreditation Board and registered with the FCC, and is listed under ISO/IEC 17025 by TUV Rheinland Japan, DNV of Norway and Kiwa of the Netherlands, with working relationships spanning the marine classification and approval bodies NK, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, DNV, ABS, Germany's BSH and Telefication - the combination a shipborne navigation or radiocommunication equipment type approval under IEC 60945 actually requires. Testing is distributed across four sites. The EMC Center handles EMC emission and immunity for consumer, industrial, medical, railway and automotive electronics. The Kishu Laboratory adds vibration, shock and climatic testing to its own EMC emission and immunity capability. The Nishinomiya-Hama Laboratory covers vibration and shock, climatic, low air pressure for high-altitude simulation, waterproofing and package drop testing alongside EMC emission measurement. The Nishinomiya Laboratory handles climatic testing. A screened room subjects equipment to electrostatic discharge, transients and surges on power, signal and control lines. The physical test scope is specific where it matters: waterproof testing to IPX2, IPX5 and IPX6, package drop with vertical impact for items up to 100 kilograms, and combined cold and low air pressure cycling. Specialisations are marine equipment EMC and classification society type approval, combined EMC with vibration, climatic and low-pressure qualification, and multi-body international listing from one Japanese base.
