About
LAHARI is the Advanced Electronics Test Facility of the Mysore ESDM Cluster, established in the Hebbal Industrial Area at Mysuru with support from the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka, and operated in partnership with the Norwegian certification group Nemko - a pairing that gives a regional cluster facility access to international certification routes. Its anchor asset is a 10 metre semi-anechoic chamber, described by visitors as the largest in the region and among the more affordable EMC chambers in Karnataka, supported by environmental and mechanical test facilities including temperature shock, shock and vibration. The published EMC programme is unusually broad for a cluster facility, spanning radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility, electrical fast transient, electrostatic discharge, surge, harmonic emission, voltage fluctuation and flicker, power frequency and pulsed magnetic field immunity, AC and DC voltage dip and interruption, and power disturbance testing - run against CISPR 32 and CISPR 35 for multimedia, CISPR 11, 12, 14 and 25 for industrial, vehicle and household products, the ISO 11452 and ISO 10605 automotive families, the IEC 61000 series, IEC 60601-1-2 for medical equipment, FCC Part 15B, the Indian AIS automotive standards, MIL-STD-461G and RTCA DO-160. Covering commercial, automotive, medical, military and aerospace standard families in one facility is rare at this scale, and the inclusion of pulsed magnetic field immunity is a test many general-purpose laboratories omit. Specialisations are IT and audio-video products, automotive electronics, household appliances, laboratory test and measurement equipment, medical and healthcare equipment, and military and aerospace hardware.
