LEITC - Latvian Electronic Equipment Testing Centre
About
LEITC, the Latvian Electronic Equipment Testing Centre, occupies premises on Azenes iela on the Kipsala island campus in Riga and was established by LETERA, the Latvian Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry Association, together with industry partners - so it exists as shared national infrastructure for an electronics sector that previously had to send work abroad. It is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by LATAK, the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau, under scope reference LEITC-R-01 covering 64 electronic and electrical equipment standards, and holds ISO 9001. Its single semi-anechoic chamber is specified in detail: 8.5 by 5.0 by 5.75 metres internally, measuring to 40 GHz, with a 1.5-metre motorised turntable rated to 1,000 kilograms, a floor loading of 1,000 kilograms per square metre, and an automatic pneumatic latching door 1,238 by 1,968 millimetres. Power inside the chamber is a 2x16 A and a 3x32 A supply at 250 V, 50 Hz, and the chamber is monitored by smoke detector, emergency lamp, CCTV and two-way audio. A shielded amplifier room and a shielded control room sit alongside it. The accredited standards lean heavily toward radio: the ETSI EN 301 489 series parts 1, 3 and 17 across multiple versions, EN 300 330 and EN 300 440. Four service lines are unusual for a laboratory of this size and worth noting: three-dimensional antenna measurements, drone and unmanned aerial vehicle platform testing, military EMC testing, and market surveillance work - the last meaning LEITC tests products already on sale on behalf of regulators, not only pre-market samples. FCC testing, low voltage directive testing and temperature testing complete the scope, and certificates of conformity are issued in cooperation with a notified body where the route requires one, since LEITC is not itself a notified body. More than 25 years of accumulated international experience stand behind it. Specialisations are radio equipment EMC, 3D antenna measurement, drone and UAV platforms, military EMC and market surveillance testing for the Baltic electronics industry.
