About
NMi Certin is the conformity assessment arm of the NMi Group, the former Nederlands Meetinstituut, and runs its EMC work from Thijsseweg in Delft - a metrology institute that added EMC to a core business of measuring instrument certification, which shapes how the service is pitched. EMC testing is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by the Dutch Accreditation Council, and the group delivers UKAS-accredited EMC testing through its British arm as well, so a product can be routed to CE and UKCA evidence within one organisation. The published immunity scope is unusually deep in the places that matter for power and utility equipment: beyond the standard EN 61000-4-2 through -4-11 set it covers EN 61000-4-14 voltage fluctuations, -4-17 DC ripple, -4-28 frequency variations and -4-29 DC dips, interruptions and variations - four tests that most commercial laboratories do not hold and that energy meters, inverters and DC-powered equipment genuinely need. Conducted emissions start at 20 Hz, far below the usual 9 kHz floor, which again reflects the metrology heritage, and radiated emissions reach 40 GHz. Harmonics, flicker and inrush current are measured to EN 61000-3-2 and -3-3. Around the laboratory work sit pre-compliance testing and advisory review, design-stage support, on-site EMC testing with mobile test units, EMC and electromagnetic field site surveys, railway EMC and system-level EMC for complex installations. Market access covers CE marking under the EMC Directive, UKCA, FCC Parts 15 and 18, and VCA 'e' marking for automotive components and electronic sub-assemblies. Industries served are energy and utilities, automotive and e-mobility, industrial automation and robotics, medical and life sciences, telecoms and IoT, and railway and transport infrastructure. Note that NMi Testlab at Blomberg in Germany is listed separately in this directory as a distinct site of the same group. Specialisations are power quality and DC port immunity, sub-9 kHz conducted emissions, mobile on-site and system-level EMC, railway EMC, and EMC integrated with metrology and instrument certification.
