Oki Engineering Co., Ltd. - EMC Test Laboratory
About
Oki Engineering, part of the OKI group and trading since 1997, runs its EMC test laboratory at Honjo in Saitama Prefecture, north-west of Tokyo, and its accreditation record is published with dates and numbers rather than claims: accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by the Japan Accreditation Board on 6 July 2010 under registration RTL03100, registered with the FCC as an EMC test facility on 19 March 2015 under registration 817278, and VCCI-registered under Article 15 on 28 January 2013 as A-0163, with three iNARTE-certified EMC engineers on staff. Reports are recognised internationally under the mutual recognition arrangements. The automotive practice is where it leads. Testing runs in a dedicated automotive anechoic chamber with a VCA engineer present for E-mark certification work, supporting carmakers' own specifications, and two capabilities have been pushed beyond the baseline standards: magnetic field immunity to ISO 11452-8 extended to 1,000 kHz where the standard itself reaches 400 kHz, and the ALSE method and portable transmitter immunity extended to 7.125 GHz with AWGN modulation added, which covers the Wi-Fi 6E band that newer connected vehicles must tolerate and that most automotive chambers cannot yet reach. Radiated emission measurement by the reverberation chamber method started in April 2026. Alongside automotive, it runs consumer EMI and EMS testing to product standards, EV and plug-in hybrid vehicle EMC requirements consultation, E-mark certification support, and product safety testing. Standards called out include CISPR 15 edition 9.1 for lighting equipment and IEC 61326-2-6 for in vitro diagnostic medical devices. Industries served are consumer electronics, multimedia, medical devices including IVD, industrial equipment, railway, automotive and in-vehicle electronics, and lighting. Specialisations are automotive EMC to OEM specifications, high-frequency magnetic field immunity, Wi-Fi 6E-band portable transmitter immunity, and reverberation chamber emission measurement.
