About
RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB is Sweden’s largest research institute and national metrology institute, headquartered at Brinellgatan 4, Borås, and operating from more than 35 sites across Sweden with approximately 2 800 staff. Formed in 2018 through the merger of SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, RISE ICT, and Innventia, RISE is wholly owned by the Swedish state. The RISE EMC team — within the Safety and Transport division — provides SWEDAC-accredited ISO/IEC 17025 EMC testing for industrial products, and is appointed as a Notified Body for the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, enabling direct CE marking support. Testing at RISE Borås covers radiated and conducted emission, immunity, voltage transient resistance, and ESD, with accredited test reports accepted for CE marking under EMCD, RED, LVD, RoHS, and the Machinery Directive. RISE is additionally a CBTL in the IECEE CB Scheme (accredited by SWEDAC, with Intertek Semko AB as the responsible NCB), and holds EURAMET membership as Sweden’s National Metrology Institute. Active R&D programmes include vehicular 5G EMC characterisation, over-the-air (OTA) test method development, and a dedicated automotive communication test chamber for in-band and EMC characterisation.
