About
Thales ECC is the Environmental Competence Center of Thales Nederland B.V., on Robijnstraat within the Thales campus at Hengelo in Overijssel, and it is the test house behind the naval radar and combat system business that Thales Nederland is built on - a heritage that explains both the scale of the equipment it handles and the severity of the environments it reproduces. It offers its capacity commercially, and its own description of its range is memorable: it tests products from radars to art objects. Five disciplines sit on the site. Climatic testing covers heat, cold, humidity and dust and desert conditions, with temperatures to plus 50 degrees Celsius cited. Mechanical testing uses an electrodynamic shaker for vibration and shock work, recently joined by a new high-power shaker.
