About
UL Solutions' Novi laboratory on Regency Drive, in the automotive engineering belt west of Detroit, is the only UL Solutions laboratory in the United States accredited for automotive EMC testing - which makes it the mandatory destination for a UL automotive EMC programme regardless of where else in the network a customer works. It is accredited by A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025 under certificate number 3212.01 and carries designation US1261 with FCC scopes across 47 CFR Part 15 subparts C, D, E, F and G, so unintentional and intentional radiator work for the United States runs alongside the automotive programme. The accredited standards reach across the CISPR families relevant to vehicles and apparatus - CISPR 11, 13, 14-1, 15, 22, 25 and 32 - together with the ISO 11452 immunity series and SAE automotive standards. Testing covers emissions, immunity and disturbance measurement across vehicle subsystems and selected components, with custom test plans written for unusual configurations and emerging technologies, and the laboratory works with both development-stage hardware and production-ready systems. The point that matters commercially is the breadth of manufacturer recognition: the site runs OEM-specific test programmes for Ford, General Motors, Stellantis, Jaguar Land Rover, Honda, Nissan, Toyota and Hyundai - eight carmakers across American, European, Japanese and Korean groups, which is a wider span of accepted OEM specifications than most independent automotive EMC laboratories hold. Pre-project quoting with fast turnaround and post-project reporting are offered as part of the service rather than as extras. Chamber dimensions, dynamometer details and bulk current injection capability are not published on the laboratory page. Specialisations are automotive subsystem and component EMC, OEM specification programmes for eight manufacturers, and custom test plan development.
