About

WiRan - the name expands to Wireless Range Systems - has worked as a hardware design office since 2002 and operates its ELAB test laboratory at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park on Aleja Zwyciestwa in Gdynia, on the Baltic coast north of Gdansk. It is a design house with a laboratory attached rather than a pure test house, and that shapes the offer: EMC testing and pre-certification sit alongside EMC troubleshooting with design feedback, radio frequency and antenna design, wireless device radio parameter measurement and hardware design, so a failing product can be diagnosed and redesigned by the same engineers who measured it. The facility centres on a Faraday cage that WiRan describes as one of the largest in the region, paired with a climatic chamber running from minus 40 to plus 180 degrees Celsius at 10 to 98 per cent relative humidity with a temperature change rate of 6 degrees per minute. Customers confirm an anechoic chamber and climatic chamber on site. The standards it works to span both commercial and military ground: IEC 61000-4-2 through -4-8 for immunity, PN-EN 55022 for conducted and radiated emissions, and - more unusually - the Polish defence norm NO-06-A500 together with MIL-STD-461G, covering conducted emissions from 150 kHz to 30 MHz, radiated emissions from 100 MHz to 12 GHz and immunity from 1 to 6 GHz. Climatic testing runs to PN-EN 60068-2-1, -2-2, -2-14, -2-30 and -2-78 plus the defence norms NO-06-A103 and NO-06-A107. RF spectrum testing under the Radio Equipment Directive is available through ELAB rental, and the laboratory also prepares clients for accredited certification elsewhere. WiRan is noted as an ESA partner, and its named clients include INVOLI, SOLARIS and PESA Bydgoszcz. It publishes no PCA accreditation number, so it is recorded here without an accreditation entry and should be read as a pre-compliance and development laboratory. Specialisations are EMC pre-certification with design feedback, Polish and NATO defence norms, RF and antenna design, space and maritime applications, and combined EMC with climatic testing.
