About
E&C Testlab GmbH (Engineering & Certification Testlab) at Industriestrasse 8 in Trossingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, is a DAkkS-accredited EMC and environmental laboratory holding three partial accreditations under master certificate D-PL-19366-01-00: vehicle type approval EMC as a KBA Technical Service (-01-03), EMC on active medical devices and IVD equipment (-01-01), and EMC, telecommunications, electrical engineering and environmental testing (-01-02), plus a published test-method list for its flexible accreditation scope. The chamber estate is structured for automotive component work: three absorber chambers at 1 m measurement distance for automotive components, two absorber chambers at 3 m with turntable and vertical antenna positioning, three shielded cabins for non-radiated EMC tests, and - critically - every test facility is fitted with an HV filter rated 1,000 V / 250 A. A mode-stirred reverberation chamber covers 200 MHz to 7.12 GHz with BLN modulation for immunity, and a GTEM cell supports fast preliminary assessment during development. Two ESD rooms provide six discharge stations. The power test infrastructure is the standout: DC supply to 1,000 V or 1,000 A at a maximum 100 kW, burst and surge to 480 V AC at 125 A and up to 5.5 kV, harmonics and flicker with EUT power draw to 60 kW, and a dedicated automotive HV test system of 60 kW system power for EMC testing of e-mobility high-voltage components to ISO 21498-2, LV 123 and LV 148. High-voltage component testing runs under real HV operating conditions to 1,000 V and 250 A with BCI, ALSE and stripline immunity plus emissions, backed by HV safety infrastructure and accredited measurement procedures. As a KBA Category A Technical Service it performs UN-R 10 type-approval testing in its own facilities, directly usable for EU type approval without involving another test institute, and is accredited for the customer standards of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VW, Toyota, Renault, PSA, Jaguar Land Rover, MAN, Scania, Volvo, John Deere and Caterpillar among others. Aviation and defence work covers DO-160, AECTP-500 and MIL-STD-461; medical covers IEC 60601-1-2 and IEC 61326-2-6 with reports recognised by Notified Bodies for MDR conformity. Environmental simulation, electrical testing and cybersecurity complete the portfolio.
